A benefit of living on a transit route. I like to take advantage and push a bunch of snow from between the driveways for the city to haul off. After two big snows, this is the earliest the city has done this. Usually just once a season, but last year they did it twice.

Migration seemed earlier this year, just some stragglers left. I think the bigger flocks picked a different area due to construction on the pond berm.

Playing with the drone auto orbit. It went nuts part way around the second tank, but the wind was gusting.

The drone went a little crazy part way round. At first I thought it might of been the wind, but I think it just lost what it was supposed to be using as a reference. You have to select an object to circle and rubble might be too indistinct.

Finally got a calm enough morning the drone wouldn't get bumped around. Need to see if I can find a calm rush hour some day for extra traffic. Sped up 7x. Could have used more light, it was cloudy overhead and to the east.

Converted to 60 fps which doubled the speed, unfortunately exaggerating some jerky movement. The drone has an tendency to make a bit of a snap move when stopping. I think the auto exposure wasn't quite right either. The drone might have an auto orbit feature, I need to go try that out.

My most thorough single year coverage of the city. I made it my goal to ride everything possible. All the roads, alleys, park paths, plenty of parking lots. I even did the Ring Road in both directions, including every on / off ramp early in several mornings. The full bypass ramps, full Lewvan. Even the grass easements in Whitmore Park, Regent Park, and near the Rugby park.

Frames generated using RunParticles. RunParticles plays the gps tracks back using elapsed time, which lets you see where you weren't moving, like at traffic lights. It can handle a vast number of traces simultaneously and play them back very fast. Much slow if you are exporting frames to make a video. I never had much luck capturing video from the screen in real time.

Playing back the first 3 hours 40 minutes (elapsed time including breaks) of all my Strava bike rides at once. Most start in Regina, but some start / end in other cities. I covered all the roads in the city about 6 times since 2014. I did a good chunk this year but got bored around June. Frames generated using RunParticles (renderfast.com/runparticles/). Video compiled using Avidemux.
