I grew up with 1911s and 44 magnums. And an 11mm mouser. Carried the 1911 c&l for a decade. I now only own and carry glocks. Because my weapons are only for combat. Not pride, or status, or bling. So that I can destroy evil, instead of allowing evil to destroy something good as fast and as reliably as possible. I also only use solid copper monolithic defenders or hunter rounds. I had the complete opposite experience. I was a huge Glock fanboy for a long time, and I still own 2 (and a shadow systems if that counts) but now carry 1911 platforms for the most part. They are what they are. I used to like them because they were more reasonably priced than what they are now, effective. Glocks are the Geo Metro of the gun world, cheaply built but functional and will seemingly last forever, but don't excel in any category. 1911's (if built properly) are extremely reliable but require more maintenance than your tupperware guns. They do actually excel in various areas such as being one of the most customizable guns on the planet, the most shootable gun on the planet, very concealable, comfortable to carry and would also be the arguably one of, if not the safest pistol, if it were a series 80 design that functioned. I've come to really dislike striker guns over the years and found the hammer fired options as the best way to go in the real world. My main EDC is the Staccato P (Primary EDC option) , but also have a SIG P226 (Other Primary EDC option), LTT HK P30 (Workout gun) and Nighthawk GRP in the rotation. My work gun is the SIG P320, until November and then I can switch to the P226; however, if they would let me, I would carry the Staccato P. The P226 is a happy compromise. At the end of the day, it all comes down to this: 1) Which platform do you shoot the best (You should carry the gun that you can practically call where the impact will be) 2) Reliability of the platform (It doesn't matter how reliable it is if you can't hit with the damn thing) 3) Everything else In the striker fired world, I don't have a doubt that the P320 will come out on top over Glock as the overall better handgun, if it hasn't already. Also, once you see a plastic gun explode, you probably won't want to put one in your hand again. At least the Aluminum frame does an adequate job, and the Steel does the best job, you're just paying in weight. I think the extra weight is worth it.

Went right to 2011 platform and shot ok. But having bought a Glock 19 and learning trigger control, it made huge difference in my groups on my 2011.

I have only been using Glocks for 8 years now. I can categorize them with sub compact, compact, and standard. Then you have calibers: 9mm, 10mm, .357 Sig, and .40 SW. The Glock 26 and 27 Gen 4’s. I have one Gen 5 and that is a Glock 19. It determines many areas on what you wear, the temperature outside, or just for fun you just pick one out. We are all different and our abilities to train and our carrying is the most important. The firearms have to fit you their best and you make that choice. The only .45ACP’s are Spring fields.

I overlooked Glock for 20 years until I actually bought a 19 and learned how easy it is to totally disassembly . I now own many, many Glocks and I only get more fond of them every year as I shoot the heck outta them with no malfunctions . My favorite Glocks are the Glock 26 Gen 5 MOS and the Glock 49 at this time.

See I don't hate on glocks because they are bad I do it because now they are overloved I own 1 myself a 19x and it's probably my favorite carry it's just some of them I actually don't like but I got my sig Sauer p226 navy and that one is my baby right next to the m9a2

Tune that safety with a file if you have to. I've also taken a couple coils off the spring to make it move much easier.

I have the v3 with a lite hammer spring and it shoots soft more like a 9mm

I didn’t used to be a real big fan of the corkscrew, but over time I have become a fan. It’s use as a tool to in do knots and as a holder for the eyeglass screwdriver I am now a big fan!

Recently bought one for son (avid gardener) but after cleaning it up maybe hold off for a while. Saw guard version .

One of the reasons There was a Corkscrew a Long Time on European Military knives is the Terrain we live we have Plenty trees with rather soft Bark were you could screw in the corkscrew and Hang Parts of your gear away from the ground thats far more often used than to Open bottles

Wow! The saw/cap opener/screw driver is magnificent!! Bottle openers are useless in my eyes, you can open a bottle with a rock, chair, wall, other bottle, etc.

I got an okapi knife like 7 years ago. It was shit but why everyone calling it good l. I got the same model as you with same markings . It cannot be sharped to the level of normal knives here so i never used it for like anything.

Just a minor point, the stock safe action trigger has the striker significantly more than 5% cocked. It's actually cocked enough to fire a round. There was a guy that measured the semi-cocked position and replicated that position using an 3D printed fixture that shows it will absolutely pop a primer.

Installed in my Gen4 G19 and noticed when I install the cover plate, the firing pin moves freely back and forth. Replace the cover plate withe the Ge 4 and there's no firing pin free movement. Doesn't make sense to me.... anyone else have this experience?

Why do people leave the safety stickers on their tanks? They are removable and meant to be taken off.

It is used as a utility knife such as the military version. Not as a fighting weapon. The fixed blade knife lends itself as a better fighting knife than a folding cold steel knife.

This should be their standard trigger out of the box for either Gen 4 or 5 pistols. Our Glock rep didn't like being told that very much. We shouldn't expect anything less, as they're still intstalling crappy polymer sights on their guns. Glock Perfection is their unrivaled aftermarket support and the standard for every clone; PSA Dagger, Shadow Systems, Lone Wolf Dusk 19, ZRO Delta One, Anderson Manufacturing Kiger-9c, etc. trying to get a piece of that market. TBF, it's one of the easiest guns work on as an Advanced Armorer.

Bumped into your video searching for reviews on the Forester. Although I do appreciate your honest opinion on what you think SAKs should be good for, I'm not sure I agree, being an avid user of one of these (like million others all around the world) for almost a couple of years now. What one needs to understand about a Vic is that unlike some brands, they aren't made with just hurting or killing in mind, although they are perfectly capable of doing both with very little effort. Looks can be deceiving, or so says the fact that these knives are standard issue for armies, which should help paint a pretty good picture of what they can do. Plus you got the cap lifter to pop open a cold one if you did it right. Cheers!

Excellent comparison. I prefer the Rebar. I like the blade placement. The ruler. The awl is essential for me. The screwdriver is amazing. I don’t need scissors. I love the smooth outside when it’s closed. The flat tips help me adjust my motorcycle front fork settings perfectly. Both are nice but the Rebar is my favorite so far.

zu Lwowitz Ever since I receive a M 712 from Umarex about 4,000 BBs ago , I was wandering about the claim of 360 FPS (on the box and everywhere ) since the couple of ‘wandering BBs at the beginning of my shooting escapades went clearly through the 1.5 inch wooden door at our bathroom . This feet couldn’t be reproduced by my other airgun SA 10 which claims a FPS of 430 - 440 . Both guns produce , at best , the same FPS -----shooting 5.4 gr steel Daisy BBs ( my SA 10 doesn’t like pellets of any kind or fashion )-----as futher velocity tests done with the same external condition ( including the time ) have shown . My contention is that FPS-----as one , if not the most , important stats for the customers-----should be taken much more seriously. The difference of almost 100 FPS shown above is clearly impossible to swallow and , thus , all reviewers ( including this one ) should start with chrono test . I believe that a lot of expensive misunderstanding could be thus avoided .

Great review! I bought one of the V3 models from Palmetto last year. The trigger return spring broke at a shockingly low round count. Outside of just a bad spring, any idea why the trigger return spring broke so early?
