Explore trails and paddle waterways in this nearly 7,000-acre natural area. Check out the Visitor Center where new exhibits and knowledgeable staff await you. The South Reserve is located southwest of Coos Bay, Oregon, where coastal forest meets the confluence of rivers and ocean.

A Story of Tribal Connection
Taken at an event celebrating 50 years of collaboration between local Tribes and the South Slough Reserve, in this video LauraBeth Barton (Coquille Indian Tribe) explains the history of the land and Reserve through her family as well as cousin Tribes: Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians and Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.
