Re teacher: comparing my daughter's grade school experiences to those of mine i can remember, in my day teachers were doing all sorts of wacky things that would be totally inapproriate today (grade 5 girls giving male teacher shoulder massages during class; grade six teacher dishing out brutal corporal punishment to misbehaving boys, etc). I'm not sure if this was an issue during your grade school days, but certain brands of luncheables were not permitted at my daughter's school because peanut oil was an ingredient, and some of the school kids had severe nut allergies - maybe it had something to do with that? the fishstick thing is less explicable, altho some folks seem convinced that ketchup makes everything taste better <g>.
