Thank you for your appreciation.
Did you get to rocky river?
Thank you. Covering what I learnt of the Dogra invasion in my next episode.
The most significant war Ladakh lost with Dogra. Dogra invasion and occupation under Zorawar made Ladakh as part of Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh was an independent country prior to Dogra invasion.
Ladakh had fought war with not just Pakistan, China and Tibet but most significant war that Ladakh was with Dogras under Ranjit who invaded and occupied Ladakh. Before that Ladakh fought many wars. Dogras capture of Ladakh inspired to invade Tibet and both fought 2 wars. Ladakh and many parts of Himaltan region were parts of Tibet until 15th century. Tibetan empire collapsed in 11th AD following the assasination of 41st emperor Lang Darma. His two wives divided Tibet to two obe went Ngari aka Kailash region and other remained in Lhasa. Their descendents further divided Tibet.
Thanks. Yes so much history. My next episode covers Zorawar Singh’s invasion of Ladakh. So many interesting stories indeed !
First time I drove the Copley to Italowie gorge Rd, I thought I was on a different planet. Such an awesome area.
Yes, truly a different kind of feel !
Good video, thanks
Top video, well done. Lots of maps and info. Not too many selfies.
Thank you Craig
Love the video, how'd you go with fuel? Did you need to carry jerry cans or do you have a long range tank? Thanks!
Our vehicle has a max capacity of 88L. We refuelled in Leigh creek and then at Innamincka. This trip was part of the big Simpson desert crossing. We did carry 3 jerry cans of fuel.
