Join me as i journey to my uncle’s house in the countryside of the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 Once there, I show scenic landscapes and sit down and talk to my uncle about the joys and challenges of living away from the city. Whether you’re interested in Dominican culture, countryside living or just need a bit of nature therapy, this video has something for everyone. Don’t forget to like, comment and...
I would love to see you interview a few Dominican-American women that have moved back. I appreciate this perspective but gender differences and expectations are huge in DR (everywhere maybe, but in different ways) and I'm curious if a Dominican woman raised in the US would find the adjustment harder (as that would be my situation). Thanks
I agree! You should check out my other video I made at a networking event. There I talk to a couple of women! 🙌
Banilejo shoutout!!
🙌
Nice love it. The DR👍
A lovely country! 🙌
El unico pais Que no somos imigrantes
Así es 💯
I want to leave the US for the same reasons but job security has me stuck and am in tech.
I know many that are in that exact situation. Blessings to you! 🙌
Great video ! One thing I wish there was is a video focused on life as a family in DR.
Thanks! You should check out my first video. I interviewed my uncle about what his life is like in the country side and I’ll be making more videos like that 🙌
@ going to check it out ! Thanks
I'm glad to see more and more of us taking the leap and making the move. Just subscribed and wishing you success in building up your channel! #5 is one of the top reasons I want to move my family out of the US. I'm a 90's baby born in CT about 40 min from manhattan and have experienced the same thing while growing up. Never really felt like I belonged anywhere either.
Thanks! Yes there are a lot of people that feel the same way in the U.S. Best wishes to you and your family ♥️
👍🏽👍🏽
🙌
I hear you brother

Great video.

Great video 🎉 ( New subscriber from Las Terrenas )
Thank you!
Yeah, this was a good video. I subbed too. Hoping to spend summers there with the kids
@ Thanks 🙌
New subscriber! Thank you this nice and informative interview. There’s is a lot more to life than the hustle and bustle. I’m a Dominican from NY, now living in Europe but I’m contemplating buying a place in DR to live part of the year there. Blessings to you and may your channel grow to millions subs., we need more quality channels coming out of DR. 🙏🏼🍀💕🇩🇴
Thanks! Yes I agree. Do you come visit often?
@ Not as often as I would like, usually I went once a year but since my mother’s passing I don’t go as often.
I understand. Well I hope you make the trip here soon!
Thank
I wanna see more
More is coming stay tuned..🙌
Thank you for sharing your experience. Many people love complaining and blaming everyone else and not changing themselves. Its sad how people are becoming
Thank you 🙏🏽
Solid Video ❤❤
Thanks 🙏🏽
Great content guys, I follow Jonah for some time, I look forward to meeting you both in DR. This coming year,
@@mudatepacaRDthank for having Jonah as your guest on your show
Thanks!
It was my pleasure!
Love the rain in the background 🌧️❤❤
🫶
Love Las Terrenas!
Yes!
Good insight 👍
Thanks!
Ok, I would like to know where you live exactly because you're painting a picture of paradise. However, there are places where you don't wanna be in DR, where it isn't wise to be walking at night, and where you'll have a lot of noise, drugs, and crime. I'm not saying that nice places don't exist. However, it isn't as affordable for many ppl to live in the better areas
I agree, every country has places where you don’t want to be out at night etc..I live in a nicer part of the city even though there are better areas.
❤
🙌
How do you make a living now that you move to the DR?
I’m currently launching a new business. Most that move here have some sort of business that produce passive income for them and some do remote work. 💪
I am from the States and don't want to be here. I applaud those who take the step to leave for a better quality of life. Congrats to you and your family.
I can definitely sympathize with your situation. I spent many years feeling that way until I was able to make the move myself.
@@mudatepacaRDonce the person realizes that they have been on a hamster wheel for long in the states and want to get off that wheel, then that person begins to take action for themselves. I see many people will never leave their black in NYC. That is all they know
Really nice❤
Thanks! 🙏🏽
Great video!! Where do you find out about these networking events? Any Facebook groups?
Thanks brother! I haven’t seen any Facebook groups but I would suggest following people that do these often. There’s one coming up in about 2 weeks in Santiago. If you’d like more info let me know.
What do u do for work in Dr?
What’s up bro, I’m currently launching a new business.
lol
If you have children, be careful with that plant in the background. It's poisenous.
Bro you coming back to America ,I’ll give you 2 years max
LOL, maybe, it depends on his situation,, especially because of the kids. I have been living here in DR for 3 years and I had to take my kids back to the US, but I came back because I make dollars and work online.
I really want to move back one day but don’t know where, my mom is from the capital and my dad is from Santiago Rodriguez so I’m considering Santiago de los caballeros since it looks like a great city but don’t know
The best thing to do is spend some real time(a few months) in each place and that will make your decision a lot easier! 🙌🙌
Meanwhile...many Dominicans flying out in droves😂even in🛶 Bronx🏃🏃♀️🏃🏃♀️🏃🏃♀️ Many Dominicans would NEVER move back😂 visit maybe! Once you live there for awhile your gonna want to move back🤷🏻♂️such is life!
Different strokes for different folks my friend.
Because they are poor and also live in places that have a lot of crime, but if you have enough money to live a decent life, then DR could be way better.
@@mudatepacaRDpeople try to live their lives through others instead of seeking what's best for them
I’m currently in the DR and can’t wait to get back to Orlando FL. Honestly, without a positive stream of income, I can’t imagine living here plus the cost of living has skyrocket .. Santo Domingo overall to me personally is very chaotic and unorganized.. if I was to move here, it would be to Santiago it’s much cleaner and its infrastructure is developing tremendously.. Regardless, we are entitled to our opinions.. I do agree with you and some of your points but United States is a big melting pot of culture and if you want to see mountains, you can just travel to Utah etc..
I agree, I wouldn’t be able to live in Santo Domingo! I also lived in Florida but unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to visit Utah to enjoy the mountains every weekend like I can here that’s a big difference for me. 🙌
Your videos are so good
Thank you 🙏🏽
Welcome back to Santo Domingo.
Thanks!
🔥
🙌
thanks for sharing bro. I'm in NYC as well, and thinking about moving back to my motherland as well.
There’s a lot of people like us out there 💪
Public schools in D.R will never be better they the US. To give your children a good education you will need to pay for Private School.
Correct. Almost everybody pays for some sort of private school. The prices can vary tremendously depending on the type of school.
And even private schools sucks until you get to college levels. I live in Santiago and most schools don't have AC in them, and they are private. I love many things here in DR, but schools for my kids are not one of them.
@@Edwin-ei9yxdon’t think that the quality of education relies upon just A/C. I personally did a year and a half in DR and when I came back to the US, I ended up graduating 6 months early. In the US I failed back an entire year(freshman). And when I came back I was 6 months ahead of my original class. Not to mention that I came back to the US as a God fearing teenager and when I went I was an Atheist. Education is more than just math and science. There’s a much bigger picture and there’s a reason why the US has constant shootings and teenagers are now “depressed”.
Everyone has different experiences and it depends on the school. My kid goes to an air conditioned school that has a far better structure(2 teachers for 10 kids per classroom and many other things)than I’ve seen in the U.S. and the grads there usually go to Ivy League schools in the states. That being said, I know not every school here is like that.
Good for you, sir, you've followed your heart and conscience. Your video should have many more views than it does. Keep living your dream, sir.
Thanks brother! 🙏🏽
Good video.
🙌
Buena Suerte y éxitos en el patio.
Gracias! 🙌
