For the questionnaire you do have to open an account and give your email...
No, I hate that! It’s a free tool so you can just download and use without sharing your info. Hope it works for you.
Thx
You get paid more than that for average teacher in usa like over $60,000
Thanks for very informative video 🇮🇳
could you please provide citations?
Is teaching good easy profession in Uk ?
No
Well explained thanks. What is the optimal time to pause for please?
There’s no specific optimal time, the purpose is to allow time for students to think and respond, so you would need to pause long enough to achieve this. It would depend on what you are asking, how challenging students find the question, context, etc. Thanks.
@@JonathanSandling no problem, that makes sense. Appreciate your reply.
I am your 1000th subscriber, subscribing after watching this amazing explanation of a theory
Thanks!
Great video. Appreciate the simplicity and directness. Went to your website to try to take the questionnaire and the entire page is full of ads and video pop ups. It was so overbearing I decided to not engage. I was very interested until I became completely inundated with ads.
Thank you so much for the video. I’m making a presentation about how incongruity and frame-shifting is involved in puns (taking about the neuroscience behind jokes) and this is a perfect explanation of incongruity. Youre a life saver
Thanks for your kind comment, glad it was helpful!
Thank you for talking about this in detail! I’m doing a presentation on this and this is probably the best video I’ve come across for it so far.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent and precise. Shall definitely take up the questionnaire too. Thank you!
Thanks, pleased you found it useful.
Thats the problem. Salarys are far too high. Lets put all teachers on performance related pay and then lets see the a* exam results roll in.
You are the best
Actually, from experience and as stated on national education website, teachers start on £28k and after working for many years reaching the highest scale (U3), get paid £43k. There is no average salary as it depends how long you have worked and what scale you are on.
Thanks for your comment. You are right, the average varies around experience and scale points but this was based on published UK Gov data.
Thanks for speaking on this important matter, it's the same for parents in their parenting approach.
Thanks, good point.
Great primer... but note that growing plants for human consumption rather than growing plants for animal consumption (so that we can then eat the animals) uses LESS arable land than cultivating meat (due to the energy inefficiencies inherent within moving up the trophic levels). So, while your presentation is strong, your example is a bit skewed.
Thanks for your video! It helps me a lot.
Thanks!
Content was very useful and well-articulated, thank you! :)
Thanks!
سيد القوم خادمهم translation : the leader of a people is their servant. this is an old Arabic proverb. maybe the idea came from it???
Thanks for your comment. Servant Leadership was first proposed by Robert Greenleaf but you are certainly right that its general ethos of ‘the leader as a servant’ is closely aligned with various religious values.
Hi I was designing the workshop on servant leadership and your video gave be kick start of it. Thank you
Glad it helped, I hope your workshop goes well.

Man is it hard to study literature! And I've been looking everywhere for a proper explanation of the three theories of comedy by Aristotle, but never have i heard a perfect illustration by you good sir! Now i can peacefully write down my research without having to look at other sources :D
Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment. Glad you found it useful and info was clear.
Greedy barstewards.
Is there such a thing as evil laughter in real life? Some people I've heard have a pretty sadistic humor and tone in their laughs.
Thanks for your comment. Usually this type of laughter or humour is related to the Superiority Theory of humour. This theory suggests that all laughter/humour is associated with superiority and is used to make oneself feel superior or to make others feel inferior. Commonly associated with mocking and teasing people and laughing at their expense. In relation to the BVT in this video, evil laughter/humour would be viewed as a violation but it would be viewed as benign by the person making the joke, but not benign by the person who is the target of the joke. Therefore, it would be viewed as funny by the person making the joke but not funny by the person who is being laughter at. It is also important to clarify that although laughter and humour are related, they should be considered separately as they can both occur in isolation.
@@JonathanSandling Thank you for the answer, but I have talked to some people who say that they like malignant humor, they use the word malignant in their own words. They enjoy seeing people getting hurt etc. despite knowing it's considered immoral. Is it fair to call such people bad/evil or can you add some further nuance?

Sir i did my graduation in an open University will i be considered to be a teacher and can you tell my what is the qualifications to be a teacher in the UK
Thanks for your comment. There are some standard requirements for teaching in the UK which you can find here: getintoteaching.education.gov.uk However, there can be some exceptions for some schools, colleges and universities so worth checking directly if you plan to apply anywhere. All the best!
interesting topic - but was not able to download the material - too bad
Sorry you didn’t manage to download. If you want to connect with me on LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. and DM me your email I send it over.
Jonathan, My men's group will discuss the role of humor in our lives and I found your presentations on Aristotle and Plato on UA-cam. They--and the entry in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy--were helpful in giving some background. Thank you.
Philip, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Glad you found the videos useful and I agree the Stanford Encyclopaedia entry is very informative. Hope your men’s group discussion goes well!
thank you. the presentation is enlightening.

Thanks for your comment!
great work
Thanks!
Hey Jonathan! This is awesome. I will be sharing this video with the leaders in my organization.
Thanks for your kind comment. I hope your colleagues find the video useful.
@@JonathanSandling We'll also get them to take the assessment you built. 👍
That's sad, why do you think men are paid more than women in the teaching profession?
There is pay equality in the UK for teachers as schools follow national pay scales so men and women doing the same role would get paid within the same pay scale. But I believe the increase in average salary for men comes from more men working in senior roles on higher salary scales compared to women.
@@JonathanSandling Thank you for the clarification!
If it’s negotiable, men are often better negotiators
Thanks sir , i have some questions ,is it per month? , im from Morroco and i want to travel to Uk and teach there , should i study in the university for being a teacher ? Do they accept the university diploma that i had in my country or do i have to repeat studying in the university ? What we are going to study in the university there ( in Uk) ? And should we pay for studying in the university?
These are annual salaries ( I wish they were monthly!). I am not an expert regarding your qualifications, but it would say it can vary depending on the type of school and age group you wish to work with. You would be best checking with the school or college you are applying to to see what they require. Or the UK Gov website usually has good advice which may help.
@@JonathanSandling okay thank you for the information ❤️👍
