You warp and weft a wonderful saga. Those days were marvelous. I am so happy that you were reunited with your daughter and grandchildren. Love, R ✌️🎶🎶🌞💞 2:41
I like the song Walk Away Renee By The Left Banke. I Cry To The Song Because I Almost Lost My Sister Renee In A terrible car accident back in the late 1970s.And I Love My Big Sister Renee for all of the bad times and all of the Good ones. That's why I 😢 when I hear this song plus I love 💞 my big sister Renee with all of my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Your Little Baby Brother Ron.
A very powerful and soulful song about our connections in life. This great song, written by a 16 yr old, reminds me that we have life lessons at any age… ❤❤❤❤❤ #LeftBanke
Im 15 and have only ever been in one relationship. My ex-boyfriend and I ended on pretty bad terms but recently decided about a month or so ago to reconcile and be friends. After we agreed to be friends he told me that this song reminds him of me. I completely forgot about it until I was going through my music playlist today and now im crying all over again😭
I’m also 65 and we were so lucky to have had the best music ever created during our young lives, no one will ever be able to create and sing songs with such strong emotions like they did in our day. We are truly blessed
I always like this song, but have problems with the lyrics. It is similar to an accent we speak in the house. Well, only now I have read, the singer is a Spanish. No wonder he has this Andalucian manner of silencing the last letters. This song is special to me. A Guy was introduced to me 44 years ago. He always came to my house, but I never had the chance to tell my feelings. One day, he arrived and told he was leaving for the States. Shocked by the sudden departure, I lost the strength to express my feelings. After 20 years, my cousin informed me the Guy died in a car accident in Los Angeles. At that time, I was abroad, but his pretty face always haunted me. To this day, I am now 62 years old , I regretted my actions. José de la Rosa rest in peace and now I can say " I still love you and sorry for my timidity" Hasta proxima encuentro.😢
Such a somber, dreary but pretty song. Back in the 70's I had a crush on a blond girl named Renee and her girlfriends' knew about it, they told her, but I didn't know that. At a party I let a floozy jump on me , in Renee's presence, and the party was stopped by the unexpected appearance of the hosts' mother . Her friends' said she was hurt---I had no idea. I let it go because we were young and I thought we had too much time ahead to stick together and too little experience. I can still see that beautiful face in my memory, ironically letting her walk away, back home without telling her I was enamored. Not a false word I speak now, a tear in my eyes and the curiosity of what might have been. It's such a coincidental experience/song and I wonder, all the time. I know it probably sounds like bull but I swear it's truthful. I regret some things of my naive youth.I hope she's well.
A hit in 1966 for " Baroque Rock " style, written & performed by members of the band The Left Banke and perfectly sung by lead vocalist Steve Martin who's melancholy voice played on the heartstrings of the listeners....💔
"There's something about 'Walk Away Renee' that's one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard, just in terms of provoking an emotional reaction." -- Marshall Crenshaw
I always played this song for a girl I dated in HS while I was also a radio DJ back in 77-78. I think of her often though she passed away young from increasingly poor health. She was such a sweet kid. I think of you often, Renee. God Bless You.
Don't worry, the pain dissipates...after 40 yrs.
We will be with those we are in "tune" with again; after we leave this place.

Heavy ! I graduated High School in 1967 and got a draft card !
In fact, the Renee I knew WAS to blame !!!!
I only knew one Renee and it wasn’t even her real name which was actually Dianne…🎶 but everyone knew her as Nancy 🎶
Man this song really brings back the memories !
2024 here!
Those of us who were teenager grew up in the 60s had a very special time, with Great music, cars, & sweet kind girls.
I woke up this morning with this melody hauntingly floating slowly out from my dreams.
The pitch of his voice is unusually reedy and sweet.
For Renee D.
Mostly here for the lyrics because some words I didn't understand growing up listening to this oldie. Beautiful and sad
Haunting

They just can't write like that anymore.

Poor Renee, i know Just how she feels. I might as well walk right off a cliff. 😢
I think I must have heard this song a thousand times, but without the lyrics. What a beautiful, sad song.
This song always hit me as I once dated a Renee in the 60's who just dumped me with no explanation of why...I still don't know...
I’m also 65 and we were so lucky to have had the best music ever created during our young lives, no one will ever be able to create and sing songs with such strong emotions like they did in our day. We are truly blessed
Beautiful song... Your name and mine inside a heart upon a wall Still finds a way to haunt me Though they're so small

Every time I hear this song, I think of a best friend I lost . Her name is Renee.
Wait a great song by the left banke from long ago❤
Would you consider the flute solo the climax of the song? Or when he says "your name and mine inside a heart upon a wall..." ??
Hello. I remember this song well and playing on the radio in the 60's. Beautiful. By the way, I'm not the Renee in the song but my name is Renee.
I never cared that much for this song when it was popular. But listening to it now, I realize was a great love ballad it was.
Still have the 45 to this. 😊
Great song from the best of times. Thank God that I'm a baby boomer. .

The pain we've all had resonates in this song
It stings whenever love is not reciprocated, or relationships end. You’re just left with emotions, and nowhere to put them.
If the name of the song was Don't Walk Aways, Renee, I'd send it to the Renee that was in My Life
One of the nicest songs of the 60's.

Love Marshall Crenshaw.....great guy too
It's "though they're so small" not "tough they're so small."

How many of us knew what he was singing about?
Love this song, but David Cassidy has a better voice than this lead singer and I like his version on Touch of Blue album even better.
They don’t make songs like this anymore 😢
To my Roberta
This song haunts me about a girl I lost, along with her love, long ago.
