I'd imagine this song was Rogers creation. I don't know how many synths and pedals it took to create but it was more than 2. Synths back then didn't have delay and FX built in like today. The synthi Ems may have, but I don't know. I'm sure the synthi Ems was heavily used for this. This was an incredibly complex song to create back then. Multiple synths and delay pedals, and who knows how many tracks had to be recorded and mixed together to achieve the end result. It probably took weeks to perfect. Now you can do it in 5 minuets with 2 keyboards, maybe even just 1. And they're both amazing. The complexity that it took to craft the original, and the ease that it can be recreated now. As much as I love David Gilmour I can't deny the genius of Rogers vision to combine and track instruments to create something that was groundbreaking and unheard of at the time. The Wall isn't really my favorite Floyd album, but the a lot of the synth work was truly ahead of its time. Ive never heard anything in music like this before The Wall was made. Dark Side of the Moon maybe, but the synth parts weren't stacked anywhere near like this. Watching this it doesn't seem to difficult now, but back then it was either genius or madness. I'm glad Roger has humbled with age, because he really wasn't a likable guy for a long time.
