Another year and I'm still here for the love of Disney and all things Pixie Dust. A Texan through and through, hence Texie Dust! The quarantine of 2020 had me appreciating UA-cam even more and wanting to be a part of it. Expect twice weekly videos in this our second year as I share my Disnerd self with the world. Proud mom of grown up kiddos who gets to DANK (Disney Adult No Kids) more and more! Always heading back to a Disney Park soon even though my heart always stays in Texas. Only pixie dust can settle here. Any hateful comments will be deleted and trolls will be laughed at.

How long can you have with them
I always try to be quick. Because there are kids and families waiting and i'm just an adult lol, but having said that, if you're there with your family, they will stay with you until everyone gets individual attention.

Totally agree!
How intrusive is the interview? Do they ask for medical records, a doctor's letter, etc?
No, they will stop you from giving any specific medical diagnosis information. They simply want to know if there is a cognitive disability, and then they asked me, what accommodations do we make in our day to Day lives and when I was able to give specific examples, we were approved but I am my mom's full time caretaker. If I remember correctly, she asked me, for example, going to the grocery store or going to the movies what accommodations are made? And I literally laughed at the idea of taking my mom to the grocery store or the movies, but explained if she wanted to watch a movie that we would have to drive three hours away to a drive in in order to do that sort of thing.
@@texiedust4874 Thank you.
You can see disney's fireworks from the hotel?
No, its on I 9.
2:06 The salt mines the Louisiana Avery Island Salt Mines! Where black slaves worked there asses off for Tiana and real life. (The images even show Tiana making them work for her
I believe a class action lawsuit should be filed, against the Disney corporation, as they (Disney) are picking and choosing what disabilities justify the DAS.
I totally agree. How is it called Disability Access when they have chosen only cognitive disabilities and then they still pick and choose. I feel like it was pure luck we got ours.
I have MS. When and I do mean WHEN I pass out from heat exhaustion or overstimulation my first call from the ER will be to the ADA. My second the press.
She was always my favorite Mickey Mouse character growing up!❤
Goofy's my guy, but I love Daisy too!
You were very fortunate to get the das pass, we have just been and were refused, it’s a disgusting and shameful experience to have to explain how you qualify, the cast member was very dismissive, didn’t listen to to reason we needed one. Shame on Disney they just want your money and they get the best way they can, the need to take a lesson from universal studios, we got our disabled pass easy from them, I applied in the uk before we went and were approved, all we wanted was a return time at Disney not a queue jump so a disabled person who is wheelchair bound and can’t stand, who needs toilet immediately, who has memory loss and gets confused gets refused. But glad you got yours for your mum
It is a broken system.I totally agree. There are so many cases that should be approved that have not been. I imagine being in theUK, they do not let you get pre-approval online before your visit, which is how we obtained it.I imagine the cast members online are better trained for understanding how memory loss is a cognitive disability. I am glad that you were at least accommodated. At Universal Studios Disney should learn.

Nice video. Thanks for your insights. My wife suffered a frontal stroke a couple of years ago which affects her cognition. She is also a cancer survivor and now has bad dementia which affects her mood and behavior which I believe were a result of the chemo and radiation. Some days are good, most days are not. Like your grandmother, my wife rarely goes out so I do all of the errands and shopping, etc. Having said this, she likes WDW but we have chosen not to go because of the lines, crowds, and heat. So here's why I'm writing, when doing the DAS interview will she be interviewed and what can I tell her to expect?
They do ask that the person you are applying for is present. Honestly, once I made it clear, I was her caretaker, they asked me the main questions, were supper bubbly to her. I let them know up front at the beginning of the interview that my biggest job is keeping her mood happy, and I think that let them know what I meant. Some things you can't outright say in front of them, but you can say, your job is always finding a way to say yes, even when you're saying no. I also brought up the fact in the interview that it's not just her staying in the best mood possible, but me physically being able to do the parks and keep up care for her. I hope this helps.
Thank you
@@texiedust4874 Thank you for your reply to my message. I appreciate you doing so. I share many of the things you mention about keeping Mom happy. My wife is symptomatic and I do everything I can to keep her from becoming unhappy (aka, anger from the dementia or "chemo brain" symptoms.
I rode this two days ago and I'm mad I'm not riding it right now. I might have a problem

I'm an old gal planning a Disney trip for this fall! I'm 100% certain that I've planned too many days in the parks, but I'm not sure when (if) I'll be able to go back, so I'm just going to do the best I can. And probably collapse in exhaustion when I get home. I was thinking about Story Book Dining for my arrival day, too. I'd like to go to 50's Prime Time Cafe at some point as well, but I'm a little nervous about tying myself down to a schedule. Travelling while disabled is a weird combo of planning for every contingency and being willing to drop every plan if it's just not working for you.
I'll be honest, our plans changed a few times during the trip because of our needs. You just go with the flow! We ended up doing Storybook dining on our 2nd day, not the first LOL. Just remember, any dining plans you make can be canceled up until 2 hours before your reservation. That helped us out for sure.
Is that even real
It is you just have to watch for it in the ride queue for The Haunted Mansion
i did leave it (not on purpose)
I have it and can bring it to you!
