Four things you MUST consider before buying a Harry Potter Wand.
So, you’re thinking about buying a Harry Potter Wand - Online?
Where do you start, what should you consider?
There is so so much choice, but what will actually arrive?
Here are Four Key Things to consider before parting with your hard-earned money!
No. 1. - What do you want it for?
I know silly question right. I have grandchildren they are a nightmare and can destroy a toy in seconds! Just get a plastic one, but don’t spend more than $5 to $10.
You are a collector and want it in a display case - Then you’re looking for a nice medium range wand with good detail - anywhere between $40 and $60. No need for a metal core - you will never use it!
I am a collector but I also want to use it! Go to Comicon, take it out and about, maybe cast some spells!
Well, you will need a top of the range Wand and you really need it with a steel core for added balance and strength.
No 2. I- Insist on good quality photographs of the one you’re actually buying!
I know, that sounds really strange, but I ordered a wand that had amazing photographs (Photos copied from another supplier it turned out). What arrived was terrible. I, of course, complained. Turns out in the small print which I couldn’t find, there is a disclaimer that the wand may not be the one in the photo as all photos are for marketing purposes only! Hmmm.
I think the 6 week delivery time should have warned me, it hadn’t even been made yet! I would be happy to take some extra photos for any customer so that know what they are getting.
3. - Always check out the shipping and returns.
As with the above terrible wand, he was happy for it to be returned! Also in the small print, the buyer pays for the return postage. So with delivery and return postage, this $10.00 wand cost me $40 dollars in shipping and I have no wand. They are banking on you not sending it back! I( I used it in a comparison video instead and did a strength test, it shattered, so I got my monies worth.)
4. - Always make sure that the company that you buy from has an Assurance Guarantee.
Many of the manufacturers will advertise directly via social media, but many are scrupulous as well. If anything goes wrong you will have no protection. So just make sure they have an assurance guarantee. Platforms like eBay, Wish and Amazon has those guarantees to protect you, but do research the prices. I have seen the very same wand priced from $10-$120! They are playing with the market and it's hard to get a good price in the end.
I’ll tell you what, Let’s have a bonus tip Number 5.
If at all possible, find a wand that you can pick up and play with. See how it looks and feels. Hard to do online I know, but worth the trip if you can.
We run a weekend stall at Paddys Market in Sydney, with over 60 different steel core wands that are very competitive prices and have many visitors come down to try them out. Even from Hong Kong! (~Stall 422 if you can make it. We even have a try before you buy Station to try them out as well as a free Witch and Wizard testing to see if you have powers!) Great fun working there!
Why not explore our range and please feel free to ask any questions at www.moviecutz.com.au/harry-potter-steel-core-wands
We are always happy to help.
All the best for now.

Thanks I only really like method 3 as forcing the half the deck in method 1 or the magicians choice in option 2 could both get a bit sticky with an awkward audience member who does want to make a choice. Method 3 is pretty much perfect.

Magician here. I do this effect without the gaffed deck and without it mattering which card is chosen, but even when it does matter, it doesn't bother good magicians because we just seamlessly start performing a different effect. Ironically, the no-gaff version of this one is the perfect way to run rings around that type of spectator, unless they physically try to snatch the deck from your hands, in which case you make a fool of them by pointing out that everyone already knows this isn't real magic, and I'm only an entertainer. If you don't like magic then why not go and ruin someone else's fun? 😂

On the second trick when you're forcing which half of the deck the spectator gets, I like John Archer's patter. He says "Just choose one of these packets for me..." If they choose the right one you're done. If they choose the wrong one, you say "Great! (and as a little joke) you say " And now the harder decision choose on packet for you." and you push the packet towards them.

Very nicely done tutorial. I found the deck only at an estate sale and had no idea what it was! A friend thought it was "Cheek to Cheek" so I found you. You teach the trick and its variations without a lot of "blah, blah, blah" like so many other do when trying to explain something. Your presentation was very easy to learn. Thanks!

Love the Cheek to Cheek deck. always have a regular Bicycle deck and a gaffed deck on me when going to perform. That gaffed deck has always been the ID, Sander's AnyCard or a few others over the years-- now it's always Cheek to Cheek. Thanks for the presentation .
