This is my favorite version of this song. I like it - raw and bare, that's the feeling of this song, so authentic, it fits. Every time I listen to this version, somehow I feel like God can hear my heart, even without my words. I sat in my home alone late one night during the pandemic, and I heard this song. Despair is not the right word, but something like that. A lot has happened since then. I buried my dad and cremated my dog in the same week. I find myself at the computer again trying not to think, unable to sleep, and this song comes into my feed again. Like the Balm of Gilead.
