That is quite a frightening noise, that smoke machine. I would be frightened of that were I a horse.

Another thing people should take in from this is, if your dog/cat or other animal have issues with firecrackers, thunder, or other noise/disturbances, it is because of you. You can train them to ignore it, so they aren't scared anymore....

In addition to that, in my opinion good luck if your on foot as a criminal especially if your running through hills and a police on horseback is pursuing you. You can run as fast as you want but even where a police car is stuck in traffic or an on foot officer is pursuing you a horse will catch you. There is a video of an officer on horseback able to give precise information as to where a suspect was going because he is so high up and able to pursue him in a busy street and block him from escaping! Such a wonderful thing to watch!

This isn’t how you train horse to stop being fear of something, you never ever try push your horse in it. You are supposed to get off the horse and show it there isn’t anything to be afraid. Then walk horse in it, then ride in it. Double bridles doesn’t belong to hands of those people..

Shortbread was a very switched off Horse when I first had him, he suffered from separation anxiety, was on his own previous for 2 years, was pushed to hard in his career, believed he was going to the meatman everyday and did not know the meaning of love. When I took him on I did everything to reassure my boy that I would never let any harm come to him, I would never expect anything from him and he would always be loved and this took alot of blood, sweat and tears. I had a Horse healer come see him 3 times so he could unload all his past onto her to help him, He is in a herd with 4 others now so that he is never on his own but is also accompanied by another 15 horses on our livery. The first 5 months I spent every given hour bonding with him, sitting in his field, reading, singing and letting him know that there was nothing to be anxious of.. We spent alot of time bonding, doing ground work and enjoying each others company. 2 years on I have a totally different horse. Our bond, the trust and love is something that has made both of us who we are today. 2 years ago I had a horse who would look straight through me, now I have Shortbread who looks at me and welcomes me everyday xx
