Well done, yet 'another' song written by the late genius of this band Steven Maynard "The Riffmaster" Clark. The early AC/DC influence evident. The video below shows arguably the 'definitive' Def Leppard. Yes Steve + Phil were magical as a dual guitar combination - however Pete Willis was also an extremely good guitarist. Pete's contribution - although sporadic at times - Pete still had a huge contribution to "Pyromania". To their credit Joe and the band rightly gifted Pete 'song writing credits' for this record which has since seen Pete Willis be compensated massively. "Pyromania" was Certified RIAC 'Diamond' in the US alone selling to date 25+ million units. The exact same RIAC 'Diamond' certification was/has been for "Hysteria", selling to date also 25+ million units in the US alone. Only Van Halen - also having 2 different albums Certified 'Diamond' can match Leppard in the US. "The Riffmaster" here is playing a 'Hamer' cut away. Not many UA-cam clips showing Steve using this guitar - and during the 'Pyromania' early times Steve's rig included a guitar I have never ever seen any guitarist use - the very limited run of the Gibson es Paul XR-1. Steve's final guitar rig was just to die for after signing and endorsing Gibson - his creme LP Custom + 3 humbuckers + Kahler 'the' best guitar I will ever see. It is included in the links below. Steve's 'Dean' guitars also iconic as was his 'Firebirds', Steve had one cherry red + 3 humbuckers + Kahler, used in a few videos and in set shots from 'the' iconic Ross Halfin, who has taken arguably 'the most' pictures of Steve - live and set promotional shots.
