There is sometimes a bug with this quest in which The Armorer's Challange is not available for purchase in the First Edition. Without the book, you cannot progress with the quest. There are 2 way around this: --- Risky option - You can pick pocket the book from Phintias - the owner of The First Edition - while he sleeps. --- Safe Option - Go the the Cheydinhal Fighters Guild. Go upstairs to the first floor and you will see a bookshelf next to a table. The book you need is on the very top of the book shelf. It can be hard to see so jump. Also, make sure you are a member of the Fighters Guild, if you are not, taking the book will be considered stealing.

So question.... could you like.... hit him with what you want to skill up then heal him before he dies and do it all over again thus getting a ton of skill ups at the expense of pretty much torchering the guy? Asking for a friend.

Wow, that elbow technique on the final boss is genius! Never thought to do that! Looks like I have a new strat against the final boss now, always struggle against him due to his high health and the onslaught you have to face before him.
