It seems that Elden Ring is sort of a homage to some of From Software's previous games. I see quite a bit here that you can find in the Elden Ring world floating around from time to time in either bosses or even some of the smaller villains. That's kind of cool.

Ultimate Doom and Doom II are still games I go back to and play over and over, and I don't think I'll ever stop enjoying them. Both utterly ground-breaking FPS games. Whilst Doom 3 may not be my personal favourite (I find its gameplay a bit too slow-paced), I can't deny that it's the rough diamond of the series and still impresses me for how good it looked as a 2004 game. Doom 2016 is actually my favourite in the series. Whilst I enjoyed Eternal a lot, I honestly prefer the overall atmosphere and setting of 2016. Very eager to see how the Dark Ages turns out, since it's a bit of a different direction for the series. Also, impressive that you actually acknowledged the mobile games here.

As someone who has been gaming since the 80s it’s always funny to me when people complain about graphics in today’s games. If someone told me in 1995 that games would look like ER I’d be so ecstatic

Until NGB (2005) it evolved, and sadly, since then it devolved, and in 2025, we have a game that is inferior to the NG2 (2008) game :/

After 2008, the quality noticeably declined. Ever since the original creator left, the entire series took a downturn-especially with the third installment. They introduced a ridiculous concept called "Bone-Cutting" to replace the limb dismemberment effect, and well... we all know how that turned out.

You forgot 1 other platform you could play Ninja Gaiden on and that was the game watches that came about back in the 90s. I found one and the only thing wrong with it is the missing wrist strap but if I put a battery in it it'll play 😃. I also have the Power Rangers game watch with the wrist strap and all still looks almost brad new.

You know we should be around Virtua Fighter 10 or something. Why did they have to make multiple Virtua Fighter games of the same edition. Like multiple Virtua Fighter 5's with different titles. And also... Akira just isn't the same anymore. I liked him in old Virtua Fighter games when he was made the boss. That dash double kick has changed from what it used to be. And it used to be cool alright. I also remember him jumping on me with fists while laying down from a knock, and not to mention that infamous grapple of him pulling your arm and hitting you with his shoulder. Which obviously isn't good when you're standing at the edge of the fighting arena😂. Sometimes an upgrade isn't really necessary as it messes up a good finished product.

It really started with demon souls in 2009.
