    Been having great success for the past two seasons with orbeez. I have been doing 30-40g of orbeez to 5-600ml of water for approximately a 1 1/2” layer under the egg tray and have not had had to rehydrate all the way through the first shed. I keep press and seal on the egg box until a week before they are due. Regarding those asking why not just use water with a tray on top, I tried that before making the switch to orbeez and I didn’t like how the water sloshes around in the box. The orbeez eliminated that problem. The yellow hardware store sponges are also a good option to incubate on in my experience, but the orbeez take up almost no space and last for many clutches. They are also fun to look at lol. Some folks have had success with pre-soaking the orbeez and storing them in jugs at the beginning of the baby season and pouring out what is needed when eggs drop without having to wait to hydrate them. Orbeez are also great for soaking a snake with stuck shed and not risking them drowning somehow. They can be fully submerged and have enough air between the beads to breathe.

    Once you add the orbeez to the bottom of the tub you fill the tub half way with water and it takes about 30 minutes for the water to be absorbed. Then you dump the excess water out and you’re ready to incubate. No need to be adding water after your eggs are in the incubator.

    I have been thinking about how to respond to this video. As I have owned ARS for a long time. Next Level Displays honestly are in a different league and it is not fair to compare the ARS and Next Level. 1) Next Level has built in lighting. No other lighting needed. Meaning less to pack. THe lighting is bright and lights the displays No clamps or extra cords hanging off table. 2) Cases. Next level and ARS cases both use simular material but that is all they have in common. I can set up an Next level display much faster then ARS. The look is also cleaner in my opinion 3) The built in heat and thermostat. This allows you to run heat on your animals. This is truly next level. 4) Customizing is hands down Next Level. So many options. I mean so many options. 5) The lock that next level offers is so much more secure. This is a good thing not negative. 6) price point. I believe next level wins with all above and the fact you are not risking dropping a row every time you put them away. It is all hinged and you put them away with one movement. Anyone that has ended with ARS or other like displays know that time they dropped a row... Banged a row on the metal part of the case and damaged the row. Next level this is not an issue. I see next level displays at expos and they look so much more clean and centered.

    The Next Level Displays having heat built in makes it a no brainer IMO. Especially this time of year. I have a Eco flo battery that runs my displays while traveling to shows so my Boas have heat at all times. I’m not having to blast the heat in the vehicle while traveling. Your setup and break down times were also not very accurate. Most people will run heat of some sort and cover it for aesthetic reasons before setting the displays on the case and that adds time. Not to mention the break down. I can set up and break down 5 displays and a tower of Next Levels in 5mins and be out the door. More expensive for sure but like anything you get what you pay for!

    • @6sociald
      @6sociald 2 місяці тому

      Also, you should get some hands on experience with setup and break down on a proper size table to get a feel for how the Next Level works because it’s far easier than it looks in this video

    • @NixonReptiles
      @NixonReptiles 2 місяці тому

      I did since I made this video and setup wise is great sure but I had anakes defecate and urinate and it made the biggest mess and was so difficult to clean up at a show due to those removable inserts it went into the other side and that further frustrated me to where I ordered another ars to replace the next level. Heat is something almost everyone I know doesn’t use during the expos much less during traveling. While I can see the benefit it’s not that big of a deal if you’re attending quality shows that have reasonable temps in the show venue. My opinion stands more firmly after using one for a show. Setup was great on a proper table but the cost per unit vs ars isn’t even a question, I extremely dislike the acrylic tops vs glass in ars. I also dislike the locking mechanism and the light it’s not the same coverage as the jsa lighting.
