A live, naturalistic enactment of scripts from classic "Popeye" cartoons. Two men (Popeye and Bluto) beat each other half to death over the affections of a woman (Olive Oyl.) However, in cartoons when a man gets punched in the face, his neck transforms into a spring; in Sailor Man, his nose breaks and he coughs up blood and teeth and bile. What happens when these same cartoon plots are performe...

I can think of two ways of interpreting this video: either it is an example of a virulent anti-social existential angst read from the heart of the rump of a human being who has already consigned himself to a solipsistic, Marxist Hell, or it is a hilarious parody of self-important Marxian artistes who judge and condemn all society from their comfortable and self-important intellectual thrones. I believe it is the latter. Either way, it's pessimistic language will make it hard to sleep. I grew up with Mike Mulligan and have always loved Mary Ann. I will think of the smile on her face (bucket) to help me sleep. Finally, that first sentence may have tipped you off that I'm the type who could have landed on an intellectual throne, but instead I became a recovering academic. Mike Mulligan is a much more interesting and real person than the intellectuals.

This is so great. On small suggestion for the script - it sounds better to me for Herzog to say: "Wo ist Waldo?". "Vhere is Valdo?" sounds too much like "Wer ist Waldo?" (who is Waldo?)

Wizard Whitebeard does not appear in the original. Handford went back and added things in and moved Waldo for the “Deluxe Editions” (which also changed titles of some of the books). Unfortunately, these are the only ones in print now. My childhood erased in a moment.
