"Ode To Eddie" is a tribute to the famous Hawaiian surfer Eddie Aikau, who died in March 1978 attempting to get help for fellow crew members of the capsized, historic replica Polynesian sailing craft, the Hokulea. This restored recording, by an obscure upper Midwest band named Greasy Lincoln, is believed to date to 1978-9.

Mike Love's dancing was described as the White Uncle at a Black BBQ. Another person who had "moves" was Ray Peterson of The Moody Blues. This was one of many songs that were done by other artists. The Rivingtons did the "original" then they covered Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers, Bobby Freeman, Chuck Berry, Del Vikings, Mamas & Papas, and The Regents.
