I am a Mine Surveyor currently working with a Chinese company at Thar Coal Block-1 in Pakistan. I would like to apply for a job in the coal mining industry in Western Australia. Could you please guide me on how to apply and suggest the best path for me? Thank you.

Lived here for a year deff has a lot of pros/cons. Was coming from Halifax Canada which population wise is near identical so I found comparing the two pretty easy. Pros: - Weather (no brainer) - flat, easy to commute by bike, traffics not bad and I thought bus system was pretty good - Biggest city on South island NZ, world class outdoor activities easily weekend accessible Cons: - Super far from literally the entire world - Pretty quiet and not much going on - Started to find it a tad boring as someone in my early 20s at the time

I found a place listed at $912/month and asked to discount it to $805 booking any length between 1-2 months with the possibility to renew again up to 6 months in total. Worst case scenario- they say no right? Wrong! They changed the rate to $1,250 and the other place I was interested in got booked in the meantime. Then I found a slightly better place that had zero reviews, thinking it would work better. It was listed at $1,230 and I just asked for ANY discount, not a specific number. As I mentioned I may have a cat with me for some of the stay, they just changed their listing to 'no pets' and never even responded back to me 😂 Oh, and this all happened after I had a place booked that cancelled on me the day after.

Wow! That's incredibly surprising to hear. I think the east side of Christchurch is the only "rougher" area really. Little pockets here in there not as nice, but overall I find the city pretty nice all around- not rough at all. Shocking to hear Christchurch being describe that way, and a first! Especially coming from the US. Some of our "mid" areas are as nice as the "bad" areas of Chch.
