What if the all possible world lines merge at some point because the same outcome is true for all of the world lines which previous memories and events stay the same and which ones change
At the very least we know that we're not living in gamma or beta, since Y2K crisis never happened as it did in gamma (explained in the "hyde of dark dimension" drama cd) and WW3 didn't start during 2011 like it did in beta, alpha is still up for grabs, we'll see soon enough, so it's either alpha, delta or Steins Gate worldline that we're living in.
Wait I don't understand the killing part. So if I kill someone and move to a new world line, does that mean that the new world will have no memories of the person I killed?
Yeah its a way to prevent the Grandfather paradox. You go back in time to kill your grandfather and in thus doing so you create a new worldline where your grandfather was not alive. So worldline A - grandfather is alive and worldline B - grandfather is dead.
From what I've seen in the series, S;G uses a combo of the MWI(many worlds interpretation) and the Copenhagen Interpretation to make world lines a thing. Understanding a bit about decoherence and phase states helps too. Plus, having played 0... I'm pretty amazed how it's used. It's also interesting how reading steiner is like a conscious overclocked form of deja vu that actually borders on a kind of "quantum eidetic memory". The mechanics of time travel, aside from using the Black Hole Theory, also works because time is mutable and not exactly continuous from past to present. An example being that, and you actually have to pay close attention to this. 1. World lines *can* in fact shift subtly enough that Reading Steiner WON'T kick in. Why? 2 reasons. a). TIn every instance of travelong from one world line to another and then "back", what actualky occurs is that the prospective Time Traveler, or Okabe, will land on the closest and most similar world line that can be observed within their respective Attractor Fields. b) Actions observed as the "past" relative from the standpoint of the "future" can shift world lines without anybody noticing. Why? That's because from the perspective of the "past", those actions thar shifted the world line *haven't been observed to have happened yet*. An example of this plays out both in Steins;Gate's and 0's end. 2025's Daru straight up says that the 2036 that Suzuha came from *is not* the 2025 that sent video D-mail despite her 2036 still being a thing, else Suzuha should have changed to reflect the shift in time, but she didn't. Why? I can conjecture that the observation itself, the unique nature of the reationship between world lines, and the somewhat segmented structure of Time is at play here. Under the right conditions, multiple concurrent "futures" can interfere with a single world line who's observed to share "the same past" as those futures, at least from the perspective of the observer. This is especially true for physical time travelers and those with Reading Steiner as that overclocked ability puts you in a different observation tier since your memory only validates the past you observed in real time, as opposed to the rest of you. Onlythe mind is exmpt fom any changes to reality via world line shifting.

that's basically js so called "canon events" from spider man across the spider verse 😭
Please upload the subbed version.
This is my absolute favorite take on Time and Time Travel
Basically you can never ever change the past ever... You can only change the future even if the future is similar to your past it is not
Basically Changing the past will change the future.

Hello from the Beta world-line.
Hello, can I go to your worldline ?
Isn't this basically the Many Worlds Interpretation
No because in this anime when world line shift the previous world line is replaced by the new one. There will always be one world line unlike MWI
t's a different world interpretation which exist simultaneously alpha, beta, steinsgate worldline
Both the alpha and beta worldlines are depressing, i hope i'm living in steins;gate
Hope I am in the gamma world line. It's nice to see Okabe as a SERN hitman

stephen choi they will have memories of him just not him after the point of his death

So everytime Okabe switches divergence that line is erased and replaced with a new one?
Well he does have reading steiner
