Soulful Psalms - Psalm 122
Переглядів 18Місяць тому
Rabbi Dennis looks at Psalm 122 this week. This psalm is one all about Jerusalem and speaks to why it is so significant to Judaism. In addition, the Rabbi examines the relationship Christianity and Islam have with Jerusalem, too. It is a great in-depth examination of why Jerusalem is so significant to so many people around the world.
Soulful Psalms - Psalm 121
Переглядів 17Місяць тому
Rabbi Dennis talks about Psalm 121 this time. This is perhaps one of the most well known psalms outside of Psalm 23 and is the source of Esa Einai. The psalm speaks directly to the help G-d provides us. Rabbi examines that and the other aspects of Psalm 121.
Soulful Psalms - Psalm 119
Переглядів 23Місяць тому
We have another unique psalm to investigate this week. The Rabbi talks about many of those distinctive aspects like its structure (it is another alphabetic acrostic), its length (it is the longest psalm), its age (it predates the 613 mitzvot), and the fact this is a covenantal poem. Come away with the understanding of how studying Torah brings G-d's presence to your life.
Soulful Psalms - Psalms 113 & 114
Переглядів 18Місяць тому
Today you are getting two psalms for the price of one! Rabbi Dennis discusses the hallel psalms. In particular, he takes a deeper dive into Psalms 113 and 114. These psalms are used at festivals commonly and speak to the exodus from Egypt, perhaps the most important event for Jews and their relationship with G-d.
Soulful Psalms - Psalm 112
Переглядів 112 місяці тому
Rabbi Dennis examines Psalm 112 this week and how it exemplifies an alphabetical acrostic poem. He will also introduce his concept of abortive consistency. Finally, he'll discuss what makes this poem a sapiential (aka wisdom) poem and the guidance it provides us.
Soulful Psalms - Psalm 109
Переглядів 212 місяці тому
Soulful Psalms is now working its way in the 5th "book" or section of the psalms. Rabbi Dennis provides introductory information about this new section and some of the background behind it. He then takes a dive into Psalm 109 and looks at the times the verses call for curses.
Soulful Psalms - Psalm 104
Переглядів 92 місяці тому
This week's psalm, 104, is another retelling of creation. Although not nearly as familiar, Rabbi Dennis examines where it is similar and where it varies from the telling of creation everyone knows from Genesis.
Soulful Psalms - Psalm 103
Переглядів 142 місяці тому
The Rabbi discusses two topics from Psalm 103 this week. The first is the transience of man yet enduring love of G-d. The second is a talk around why Jews move when they pray.

New research expands on J Atwill's discovery that the story of Jesus is a parody of Emperor' Titus' victories. Paul the Apostle: Liar and Conman | James Valliant, Rabbi Tovia Singer Believers mindlessly suggest it is a good idea for us to suspend our disbelief, granting God made Mormons so Christians would know how Jews feel. Jesus Christ says faith is worthless as a mustard seed when it comes to telling mountains to move with expectations of obedience. Men have always know God as a tool of fiction & nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital. How is it possibly ethical to suggest the equivalent of a notion we all travel with one foot in a stranger's fantasyland, using fictional vocabulary: prophecy, prayer, etc. We have Moses: World's worst navigator, leading a party as if travel were best done with one foot in fantasyland. If Christianity were so good, why are the Jews unconvinced? The religious lack any standing for a vacuum of quality-control. The Jews have a joke: God made Mormons so Christians would know how Jews feel. Jesus, alarmed by the crowds increasing, Jesus said, "This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah, who was sacrificed overboard so the raging sea might grow calm." The sign of Jonah is the superstitious working their way to a majority & good people dying. Need we add more? Should we ignore it was secular law & order ending the inquisitions, the witch killing? Nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital. We don't recommend prophet as job description. We know them by their works & Christians have attempted to put their new wine in the old Jew wineskin. They both come from circumcision as a shortcoming. We know them by their works, the vocabulary of fiction, of spin. It is not what goes into them declaring what is kosher, but what comes out that condemns them. It is their worthless faith healing them, rather than touching the hem of His Tunic or dating the Shroud of Turin.

Lies about a sign of hands and feet being pierced as a prophesy is told to this day. Conclusion: Yes, Jesus fulfilled ancient prophecy when He died on the cross. You might be interested in a series of prophecies about Jesus Christ. We would encourage you to visit the “Prophecies of Jesus.” Here you can read more of how Psalm 22 is fulfilled prophecy about His death. Psalm 22:16 Dead Sea Scrolls and some manuscripts of the Masoretic Text, Septuagint and Syriac; most manuscripts of the Masoretic Text me, / like a lion This verse, which is Psalm 22:17 in the Hebrew verse numbering, reads in most versions of the Masoretic Text as: כארי ידי ורגלי, which may be read literally as "like a lion my hands and my feet". Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce[b] my hands and my feet.

And maybe, because of the similarities of The presence of Hashem, being in both spots , in the Tabernacle and with The Ark, maybe there was rules on how to move the presence Hashem, and be in the Presence of Hashem, and maybe Uzza was just being a good devout soldier, because he knew Enough of the story of his ancestors, that he didn't want Hashems presence to fall. Just another maybe.

As always with Mikra, there are enough gaps in the account to allow us to enter into the tale and "explain" it ourselves, like a good episode of "Lost" or "Yellow jackets." There is room enough for us. Thank you for your reflections

Few things... Sorry that I haven't been able to trim off countdown timer like I used to be able to do. It looks like UA-cam has changed the editor to disallow trimming in some cases. Unfortunately, it appears some of our videos fall into those categories. I'm researching ways to correct it now. Sorry about the audio issues in this one. The 1st problem was caused when the mixer's power cord got yanked out. The second problem arose because I was recording without the mixer this weekend and forgot to restore it as the primary microphone input for Zoom. Anyway, about 20 minutes into the service, with a help of a few of the viewers of the stream, I was able to get it fixed. Sorry for the problems this week!

From how the words Shield and Buckler are used in this script I am forming ideas about how one would actually use this. It sounds like like His Name as your shield to defend yourself and His Name as your buckler to parry your enemies attacks. That's what came to my mind. 🙂
