Very informative video. I too had exactly the same problem with the gear-lever stuck in park. After a lot of unnecessary work with previous information, I found that removal of the gear lever was the best and easiest option. BUT, before doing so, seriously tape up the thumb button OUT so that it doesn’t spring back in, causing the internal lever to move. Mine did! However, I did eventually get out of that difficulty too, so that I didn’t have to replace the automatic gear lever. Success in the end, but another lesson learnt. Good luck to all.

I just had to do this, 2009 touareg...I think the red button pushed towards the driver's side

Please my Touareg same model won’t start and the lever is moving too freely and on the dashboard indicating S position and not P that suppose to allow the car work. So can u help me out please

Hi my friend … I have the same problem on a 2008 … I do hear the little clicking noise so that is good. Only thing … my plastic thing does already pull up … but I cannot adjust the gears like you can when I pull it up. Weirdly … it does not push down at all, like you push your down. Any thoughts? Thank you

Awesome when is part two? I could use it today:) Me Pharon has no battery. The flat bed connected cables but nothing happened. They left me because the gear can't be moved to neutral. I can't take the key out. They can't raise the car onto the flat bed because I can't put it in lift mode. Nothing. Nobody speaks english anywhere here in Spain. So here I stand, abandoned by everyone.
