Unfortunately they stopped selling this fantastic machine last year because of supply issues. It has been a great partner in my business for 12 years and has many more left if properly maintained.

I've tried a number of products and this is the cheapest way I've found to create a leak proof mast boot. And they look nice.

Dyneema Eye Splice for a Sailboat life line
Nice real world five star video
Best splicing video I've found. If you've ever tried to splice used double braid, you see it is much more difficult than new rope. This technique makes what seemed impossible actually almost easy. With new rope it is a breeze.
Very excellent video! This man is an A+ skilled sailmaker! I have been a sailmaker for 13 years and I am coming to this video for help. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
What is that trampoline mesh fabric called? If you don't mind sharing.
This is just... wrong. Butyl tape works better, then wrap with cloth and paint... but this pirate operation could weave grass skirt and make all the girls giggle and have to travel to this remote outpost to have one no matter the cost, lol
You still using this machine? I just bought one and have been trying to solve an issue with it binding when reversing.
Saw some neat shortcuts, thanks!
This is the best explanation of repairing a jib on the internet today! Tom discusses common issues working through the whole process and describing what needs to be done, why and how to make needed foresail repairs including how to add sacrificial UV protection. A great video by a skilled sailmaker. Thank you!
Where do u live ?
Love the location of his guy's sail loft. IS that Rio Dulce?
Great video if my Spinnaker isn't up I'm usually dragging it under the boat. I've messed with top down furlers but gonna go back to old school snuffer
Simplified... Thanks
What a fantastic video, very informative. Thank you so much.
Love watching top notch craftmen at work.
Excellent video. Learned a lot. Thank you.
Hey Tom. Hope your doing well mate. It’s Ash from Marco Polo outremer
Really helpful video, thanks very much.
Thank you ❤
Great video. I have a Stager which is what this is based off of. There’s a 6-Row Feed Dog available (Part Number #CS415F) that uses the dead space on the feed-dog in front of the needle; but it’s rare and has to be imported from a Consew/Seiko dealer. #CS139F is the matching Needle Plate. The feet on these tend to stick to the material at times, attaching Teflon to the bottom might alleviate it.
Wow awesome video
Thanks for the video. Have the Professional and love it. I watched the Solent video on timing. Help also. They have added an offset to the rod around the 4-point 2-point cam to make changing very easy and quick. Need to get Sailrite to consider getting a model back for sale. Again, thanks for your comments on the adjustments.
Some really great tips, thank you for sharing
Have you tried the D splicer scissors? They cut through Dyneema with ease.
Very informative video, thank you for sharing
I did not see where you folded over the top edge for the top seam - but it looks like you folded it over at least at the location of the handles right before you attached the handles? Thanks - just discovered your channel.
I often struggle with the final part. How bad is it if you only succeed a little after the first marker? Can it fail?
I do lock it with a stitched whipping
Hi Tom, your tension issue, Is your presser foot sticking, or being held up, maybe slightly off the fabric. If the fabric lifts a little it will give the impression of top tension problem, and the knot will always be on the bottom, might be worth a check.
Wowser! Very in-depth instruction! I have to get the tool that is in the vice. Thanks!
You built a mast raising system using 2 masts! Brilliant 😊 Also, love your shop’s location, one can never get tired of working there. 👌
Nice shop
No idea how to sail nor what the hell you were saying, but I know I can do it if I needed to🤣🤣🤟
You really are a skilled craftsman. First video ive seen of yours, but watching you make that boot cover im impressed, it came out perfectly. Nice job & thanks for sharing.
Hey Tom have you ever heard of a reweave Brummel?
I haven't. enlighten me...
Working construction and wound up on a job site where all ropes for lifting had to have a spliced eye cause they didn't trust people tying knots. They were using these huge 3 strand bull ropes because it seamed to be the only rope they could braid an eye into. I tried other videos on UA-cam and failed on 5 other videos. Watching your video I did it on my first try (slowly, rewinding, and Watching over and over). Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. It's not always easy to take time out of your busy day for complete strangers to benefit. Because. of people like you and Thousands of others in the UA-cam community, you're making people's lives easier one video at at time. Thank you again.
Wow!! I am so, so glad you guys made this video! I can see sewing Sunbrella sacrificial on a Yankee-cut jib for us in the future. With this video I feel a lot more confident about the whole process- BIG THANK YOU! 😀
You're welcome, glad to share
Here's a more comprehensive video about dyneema lifelines. ua-cam.com/video/-2TIqsXA7E0/v-deo.html
Whose fids are you using? I have not seen a fid with a loop in it before.
This is the Brion Toss splicing wand. Unfortunately they are increasingly difficult to find since his untimely death some years ago. Some arborist sites have them as well as sailrite sometimes. I believe the one in this video is the medium size wand.
This guy's a douche
What the heck are Diameters? I know that a diameter is the distance across a circle not some linear measurement. Do you mean centimeters?
No I mean Diameters. This is 1/2" rope and 24 diameters is 12" bury. 1/4" rope is 6" bury
CHEERS !
You make it look easy.......Haha
I like the way you work man, thanks for pasting this video!
My pleasure
What type of fid / needle are you using?
That's the Brion Toss size medium splicing wand. Getting hard to find. I'm not sure if Brion Toss yacht riggers will continue to build them.
Super instruction. I have tried to make a proper splice for many years and even given up on it. With your instruction i have just made a perfect one in 8 mm Liros - Herkules vision. Thank you from Denmark
Excellent, so glad to hear
I failed rocket science at MIT. No wonder I can't make one of these things!!!
I would have liked to see the bag being made, and the install.
Just got it done today. studio.ua-cam.com/users/video7h3y7-0V1oY/edit
@@tomgensemer8515 Very cool Thanks
double braid
@tomgensemer...Tom, how would I find out the tools that you you use to splice double brain nylon rope?
The splicing wand was built by Brion Toss but they are getting difficult to find since he passed away some years ago. Sailrite, some random arborist sites have them... I was using the medium size in this video
