What annoys me so much about Varian's villain ark was that it all couldve been slowed down, if not stopped entirely. Once the Blizzard was done there was nothing stopping her from going to find Varian and trying to help. And if she went to help him with the flower after getting it they couldve figured out much quicker that she was the sundrop and not the flower and then figured out her hair wouldnt stop the rocks. She couldve started looking for a way to control the rocks WITH him before he fully turned against her. With how quickly he snapped, it likely wouldnt have slowed him down much, but at least it wouldve slowed him down a little, possibly enough to realize Rapunzel wouldnt be able to help yet
