Wow, wonderful video ❤👍
Where did you hide the marshmallows .
Look up McNeil River State Game Sanctuary and Refuge in Alaska. It's an amazing place where bears just act like bears around the handful of humans that are allowed there.
Coastal brown bears are grizzlies.
Yes, sort of, it's a naming convention is all. They are all Ursus arctos. If they are found in the interior US or Canada they are referred to as Grizzly bears. If they are on Kodiak Island they are referred to as Kodiak bears. If they are in Russia they are called Kamchatka brown bear (камчатский бурый медведь). If they are found on the US or Canadian coast, such as these guys, they are referred to as Coastal brown bears. The distinction is used mostly because their size varies greatly depending on their environment. Coastal brown bear have access to a lot of fish and can get nearly double the size of a Grizzly. For example, a large Brown Bear in Yellowstone is 700-800 lbs, where the alpha male at McNeil is estimated to be around 1,400 lbs by the end of the season. Thanks for watching.
@@summerswildlifeimages8963 Ok, I clearly need to address your flaws. "Yes, sort of, it's a naming convention is all." - yes, such names as 'coastal brown bear' are colloquial common names. But common names are not scientific names (that have corresponding international common names aside from this colloquial name), and in that regard, modern consensus places all brown bears in N. America outside of the Kodiak archipelago into one subspecies; Ursus arctos horribilis, which is the grizzly. And so, whilst Americans tend to call coastal grizzlies 'coastal brown bears', they are in fact grizzlies by taxonomy and internationally recognised common name "If they are in Russia they are called Kamchatka brown bear" - there are 4 brown bear subspecies in Russia. As such, that remark is inaccurate. The Kamchatka is just 1 of 4
@@Dr.Ian-Plect OK. I award you 1 internet point. Good job.
