I love how this video goes with almost any upbeat song ... (astroboy1960)
The fashions of this era are delicious.
Beautiful video. I liked the lady brushing teeth. I would do sonething like that lol. Abdy was a true artist. So nire than only a "pop" artist.
Great Nesmith penned song. It bares a striking resemblance to Jerry & The Pacemakers' "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying". But I love this song!
Damn, my favorite MN song!!!
One of the band's very best. So beautiful.
This time period in history was just beautiful.
Great video
Next to Pleasant Valley Sunday, this is my favorite song from this album. I remember hearing it for the first time
Very much like Gerry And The Pacemakers' Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying. I looked this up because Bob Rafaelson is listed as playing piano on the track...I can't hear it!
Lol. This was fukin great!!
No great wonder that Greenwich Village is so famous; just walking down and around its streets inspire.
A shame that this song remains a "deep cut". It should be as well known as The Associations "Never My Love". 🤖
Is that…….Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorleac? No…the dates are wrong for both of them as they were in the South of France at the time (and the were big stars at the time to have these tiny parts) It could be Veronique Duval, who looked similar to Françoise ( and also appeared in Two Young Girls of Rochefort in a tiny part). Yes guys, I need a proper hobby.
More likely it was just four random girls hanging around the hotel who got lucky and were cast as Monkee Girlfriends that day! Certainly cheaper than hiring actual actresses would have been
I read somewhere they were models. According to a poster, one was Catherine's late sis.
This tune is totally 60s magic!!! Way to go, Nez!!! Love Mike.....what a great pioneer and artist!! RIP DAVY, MIKE AND PETER
I hear some Gerry and the Pacemakers - Don't Let the Sun Catch You Cryin
All those chicks got it hard that night!
Doubt it. None of them were the Monkees actual wives/girlfriends at the time. Just four lucky chicks in the right place at the right time
You think rock stars don’t take liberties with their female fans? I agree with you on this one, they were probably paid models.
One of Mikes best pinned songs.
Kazar what did he die of original singer for the yard bird's
Wonderful song, wonderful video, wonderful little “party” later that night.
what was the song when 4 women had stars in their eyes?
I always loved this video when they played it on one of the Monkees shows. I was a little kid in 60’s but this always reminds of how things were and how chill everything was back then. Love this song.
Today is the complete opposite of the 1960s .
I saw the Yardbirds in 1967 at a free concert in an amusement park...I was expecting to see Jeff Beck, but he wasn't present, instead there was a guy in a shinny silver trench coat with a paisley shirt and three colorful neck ties that played wild riffs...I latter found out his name was Jimmy Page...I had no idea who Jimmy was, i had no idea who he was since Led Zep didn't exist yet...
RIP Mike! 🙏
What an awful song 😂😂🎉
I think it is pretty.
Absolutely gorgeous 💕
Thank you,I enjoyed 🎶🍀
This is a GREAT post from that era of collaboration with Steve Allen’s unsung piano. Thank you so much!🎶
Love you 💕 Michael Nesmith. Rest in peace
Joanne is my favorite Mike Nesmith song 🎵
❤️Women with red banjos On their handbags And arts handicrafty Slow shuffling Art-ers of Washington Square Passing in what they think Is a happy June afternoon Good God the Sorrow They dont even listen to me when I try to tell them they will die They say "Of course I know I'll die, Why should you mention It now - Why should I worry About it - It 'll happen It' ll happen - Now I want a good time - Excuse me - It's a beautiful happy June Afternoon I want to walk in -
And this was the man who wrote Joanne! 🎶
The music of this song sounds a little bit of this song dont let the sun catch you crying
So beautiful. With perception and soul.
Is this Ginsberg reading it?
It's Kerouac
But now he’s gone to join Davy and Peter in Rock & Roll Valhalla.
One of my favorite songs. Interestingly Mike wrote and demoed this in 1963.. A year later "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying" came out from Gerry and the Pacemakers in England - Sound so much alike...
Good call !
RIP, mike.
Rip Davy and Peter
Rest in Peace, Mike. I had a huge crush on him and Micky growing up. Now, Mike is gone. Just weeks after completing a farwell tour with Micky Dolenz. My heart is sad today.
Rest In Peace, Michael Nesmith. 1942-2021.
brilliant production...awesome Warhol star's....great.
wow..Mikey kissing on a gal other than me? Im jealous!
I'll bet his wife was too! (Cause that darn sure ain't her!)
Samantha did do a cameo in their Paris episode. They were on a bus.
I thought I knew the monkees pretty well, but this is the first time I heard this song. Beautiful, but slightly melancholy mood.
"no one believes there is nothing to believe" -- genius
Javier,no te olvido hermano.
Made me laugh every time
Does anyone know the name of the park they walked in?
One word. Lame.
'This is the sound of ignorance'

Naaraayana / For Your Love Naaraayana Naaraayana Naaraayana Om Namo Bhaagavaate Vaasudevaaya For your love… I’d give the moon if it were mine to give I’d give the stars and the sun for I live To fill you with delight I’d bring you diamonds bright Don’t you think it would excite If I could dream of you tonight. For your love… Naaraayana Naaraayana Naaraayana I’d give you everything and more And that’s for sure… Don’t you think it would excite If I could dream of you tonight. ... One day in sound check the chords for this chant came through along with the words. After playing it for a while I started singing the words to an old Yardbirds song from the 60’s that I love. Still love it! ( krishnadas.com/lyrics/naaraayana-for-your-love )
Beautiful poetry 😊
I've always found this to be one of the most beautiful Mike Nesmith songs. And this video showing them with girlfriends has a nice romantic touch, something that's definitely missing in videos today.
I thought it was their real life wives of girl friends as a kid, but found out they were models. Wow, I bet they have cool things to tell their grandkids or great grands now. I was just a baby in their heyday.
