Not looking good with Mitchell throwing Eddie under the bus. A man of Mitchell CV experience should be able to hit the ground running after 2 weeks or he's the wrong man for the job. Pointing the finger at others for a poor window doesn't look good on Mitchell, and may lose some trust within the club.

The genral reporting on the Guehi deal from journalist was poor, deals were close apparently on many occasions and it was probably nowhere near, there was nothing to indicate a deal was close, it's all for attention but after this now losing serious credibility, there's now no reason to believe them again, and as a fan this is what frustrates us the most, we just want accurate information and we dont get it. I've do doubt the club are absolutely trying everything to improve the squad, but with a plan, which is exactly how it should be, the perception however is poor but Mitchell coming out is fine, but now there will be increased expectations to do something in January. Feels a bit messy looking in, but we have to just back them, and support the team on the pitch.

Thinking about the scouting network comment, is that’s what I assumed the club would try to do. Scouting networks aren’t constrained by PSR and - to me - seem to be the ideal solution to avoiding the bloated PL market where you have to compete with the so called “big 6” and their silly wages.

It would be very useful if Paul Mitchell held a monthly press talk so the fans are informed of developments. PIF have massive plans and we need the fans to understand the path forward and why.

Very good podcast, covered so much ground, so many questions to answer. Firstly, i have banged on about a new stadium for a long time, obviously the location is the key, Leazes park or is it Leazes moor a bit further over where Sir John Hall favoured, i think the objections that followed and ultimately stopped that expansion would now get the go ahead, Urban Green who run the park have stated that as long as the park was upkept and renovated to an extent they would have no objections. Ok it's a grade two listed area bandstand, Victorian terrace, they could be moved, it's a really big undertaking but the best archiatects would be involved. But i have a feeling we will now renovate SJP, logistically a mare but again the very best people would be involved in the project, anything is possible when these people put their mind to it. And we all know about grade one listed Leazes terrace, the metro station, the road leading to our major hospital thd RVI, these are massive obstacles to overcome, but it can be achieved. I've been watching the redevelopment of the Bernabeau in Madrid closely, it's an incredible piece of work, all be it there is a lot more space to do those improvements. Add my mind changed as i cannot understand why we did not build a new training ground/complex. Within five miles of Benton there is any amount of green space. So no new trading ground no new stadium. In my view is a revamp of SJP, as much as a new stadium would be awesome. It's some undertaking but that feasibility study has been going on for such a long time, they may just have it figured out. Oh, and we will probably be back in for Guehi, unless Palace offer him a new five year contract or something. And according to Mitchell we still need to be hunting down "hidden gems" if we can, and according to him our scouting network is literally amateur hour, it's got to be revamped completely. So things may take a wee bit longer than thought although we may get some leeway regarding PSR in the next year or so, i feel the goalposts may change. Hope so for all of us toon fans.

I have supporting the toon since 1966. I have been lucky enough to see some silverware. Anglo Italian, Anglo Scottish, Texaco 😂 but seriously the Fairs cup. I was disappointed when they pulled down the Leazes end but for the sake of future generations that will finally see Newcastle fulfilling what my generation has not. We need a new stadium to encourage the bairns of the future. We cannot hope to compete with the likes of the greedy six without revenue and while my generation will pass away we owe it to our sons grandsons and daughters to give them something to shout about. Stop being selfish and embrace change.

On the stadium naming point, it is almost always omitted that there have been rule changes since 2022/23 requiring a consultation process with supporters to protect ‘heritage of clubs’.

Must have a new stadium with some acoustic engineering as a major component. When SJP was 36k the acoustics were so much better, much louder stadium on a per fan basis. The higher roof is the issue

If we are to make the wtong decision and redebrlop St James Park thecapacity will drop by at least 10,000 each year for 4 years. Just build a new stadium on the hill in Castle/Leazes Park for 70/80,000 fans and we can compete financially with Real Madrid and the like.

The only real option for a new stadium is to rotate 180 degrees & move slightly into Leazes Park then use the land vacated to build a new park. Any move out of City would kill the City. Town moor will never happen as Freeman quite rightly won’t sell that land.
