It will transport you from Georgia to Germany. I think this is the best place to stay if you want to hike mount yonah because the prices are reasonable and it is a great town to explore. You should have seen this when it was a real working cattle ranch. I had the privilege to grow up working and adventuring fishing and hunting on this ranch in the early 1980s my brother in law was a ranch hand on this beautiful ranch and lived on it along with my sister and my niece and nephew. they lived and worked here. I stayed with them every weekend and all summer long working cows during round up. Bucking hay Sleeping overnight in the bunk house out in the middle of nowhere working cows in the main pens at the ranch house lol. The main ranch house was occupied by Jb and Marsha Starkey along with there children. The memories I have from as early as I can remember to 17 years old are some of the best I have. There was no one in these woods and bay heads growing up. Fishing the big bridge area to Betty hole a natural spring that would rival crystal river area. My brother in law has passed since I’ve gotten much older and as with everything from our past all is ever changing and only in my mind do I remember Days gone by but not forgotten

hAVE YOU BEEN TO Little River canyon. Going down hwy 176 along the canyon you will find Canyon View Overlook. Park there. Now follow hwy 176 south for about 150 yds. On he left side of the road there is a small trail that leads off toward a side canyon. Once you get into the woods you will see white trail marks. follow them to the edge, turrn left and follow they down to a trail leading back toward Little River. After going thru a rock jumble you will bear left. When you see two marks on the same tree there is a turn. Go right down to the river. When you reach the sandy beach , turn left and follow the trail up to the next big rapid This is humpty Dumpty. On Sat and Sun ir there is high water kayakers will be running this double drop between 10:30 and 12:30. As you are getting back to the trail you may see a red trail going upstream. This is hard to follow at high water because. the water covers the trail. At about 100 yds there is another big rapid and the trail turns straight up. At the top of this trail is a yellow trail. Take that trail to the right and back to the toad. Turn left back to Canyon View Overlook. While in the area you may want to check out Cherokee Rock City, a county park south of the canyon. There are some youtube videos of it. Happy hiking.
