Hi, I'm Shane - primarily I'm a bass player but I also have a passion for synths and play a bit of guitar too. I love experimenting with different sounds and genres but usually gravitate toward more metal and darkwave territory. My list of associated acts include Toxik, Militia Vox, Swear On Your Life, Slam One Down, Sicks Deep, among others. I am based in Central NY and am always interested in collaborating with others who share my vision and enthusiasm. If you think we'd work well together or if you just want to say hi, please feel free to contact me. Please follow me on my social channels for updates on everything that I'm up to. I appreciate your attention and support.
Fear Factory - Fuel Injected Suicide Machine - Bass Cover
I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring for this @fearfactorymusic fill-in bass audition. Playing in Toxik for a number of years was great training for my precise right hand attack. Aggression Continuum is one of my favorite metal albums in years and I absolutely love this song so it was a pleasure to learn. Thanks for watching!
Standard tuning and the audio was recorded in one take with no edits.
All video production by me.

Tool - The Pot - Bass Cover
Переглядів 1,1 тис.5 місяців тому
A couple of months back, I had the honor of performing this at @UltimateJamNight at the Whisky a Go Go in LA along side a number of incredible musicians. I love this song so much and finally got around to recording this video. This is one of my absolute favorite Tool / Justin Chancellor bass lines. The whole song has such a tight syncopated groove. However, the bass solo tone was incredibly har...
Soundgarden - Slaves & Bulldozers - Cover by Militia Vox

I hit the stage once again with @MilitiAismyname on August 20th at The Cutting Room in NYC. We played a fun set and the band played this cover for the first time. I thought the show was great, overall. The current Militia Vox band line up are all really solid players and a blast to share the stage with. We played with Dead Groove, a killer group from LA. Awesome night overall! #coversong #bassp...
Spiritbox - Holy Roller - Bass Cover

This one was a lot of fun to learn. The insanely low tuning on this song really sounds brutal. I feel like I really maxed out the processing power on my Helix! I was super happy with the tone I got for this. Thanks for watching! Drop F# tuning - pitch shifted down from drop A. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face - Bass Cover

Up until now, I've really only posted rock and metal videos but I appreciate so many genres. Especially ones with great bass lines. I always thought this track grooved so hard. The fun part about learning this one was really finding the pocket. I did a little riffing here and there but to really lock in to that groove is so satisfying. Thanks for watching! Standard tuning. Sound and video filmi...
KoRn - Somebody Someone - Bass Cover

It's been a while since I've done a KoRn cover. This is one of my favorites of theirs. I always loved the main riff and the crushingly heavy breakdown at the end. Thanks for watching! Drop A tuning. Sound and video filming, production and editing by me. - ShaneBoulos shaneboulos shaneboulosmusic
Clutch - Escape From The Prison Planet - Bass Cover

I always loved the swinging groove on this track. I found it quite challenging to really lock in on it but I really enjoyed learning it. I always loved the lyrics too. They're so hilarious and clever and paint such a vivd picture of the narrator to me. Clutch was one of the first "post-modern" groups I remember getting in to when I was growing up. When I was a kid, I wished their production was...
Deftones - Around The Fur - Bass Cover

Deftones are a formative band for me. They defy genre. They get lumped in to "nu metal" but they really never were a nu metal band. They were always their own thing. This track was always so awesome to me. The drum intro is so iconic and then the track unfolds in such a unique way. The groove is kind of unconventional and Chino's vocals take you on such a journey: almost floating over the verse...

Dino requesting bassists play with a pick is ridiculous. This sounds fantastic.

Yes.. a metal bassist that uses his fingers
❤❤❤❤❤
By the way. nice soft paw! I've always idolized Getty Lee for the precision, power and speed of his soft paw. Realistically, the first serious progressive metal bassist that laid the foundation for the rest of us. You are truly awesome to watch!
I believe that you've got the bass solo of Justin's in "The Pot" spot on. I've always loved the complexities and thought provocation of Tool and "The Pot" in particular. Not only in the lyrics, but the instrumentals as well. I've always been a believer in the philosophy that perfection is in the little imperfections. Well done man! Thank you for putting the time and effort of getting it right and putting it out there for our enjoyment.
I really appreciate that. It was quite a challenge recreating that tone and part. It's such an organic performance to me and is very nuanced. Feedback like this is very validating!
Cool take on it
Best cover made. What equipment do you use to get this powerful sound? Thank you
Thank you! I use a Warwick streamer stage one and a line6 hx stomp processor.
@@shaneboulosmusic grazie❤
Amazing cover bro! Amazing tone! Subscribed 🔥🎼🎵🎶
Ахуенный звук. На протяжении года пересматриваю видео и только сейчас заметил, что у тебя футболка «молчат дома» может быть ты русский?
man that tone is DEAD on
This is the best bass cover of this song that I’ve seen. Great job 👏
Fantastic playing, and awesome tone! Well done!
Great sound
One of the best covers made. Great job bro.
your tone it is absolutely amazing, could you share de settings to get this tone?
Thanks! I use a line6 helix. The tone is very scooped but I think the key is parallel processing and really compressing both the low and high frequencies separately and dialing them in to taste.
Hell yeah. Fieldy was the main reason I got into playing bass.
Glad to be your 400th sub! That tone is killer.
Awesome! Thank you!
Man, there aren't many Soilwork bass covers out there. You killed it. I've been addicted to The Akuma Afterglow lately, but I can't find any bass covers for it. Is that one you'd be interested in doing?
I've got to listen to that more. I'm making the rounds but I may get back to Soilwork at some point. I love them!
This cover video is so sick that I thought There is darkglass studio Be a Sponsor

headphones over winterhat and first mistake at 0:18 (and only i noticed) :D another thing is Chancellor use pick, that is why half of your tones are dull. On the other side cool result with finger picking. Very solid timing, you feel bass role in the song. Beautiful video editing + 4K. Rockstar energy. Player used to play in standing up. Cool solo sound. funny moment 4:40 :D
I would love to watch more of your covers of Deftones and Korn 🤭
nice performance and cover! i actually dont listen to Tool and Rammstein, but I watched your covers of them cuz I loved your tone +1 sub, you deserve! congrats from Brazil!!!
insane
Bro, your tone is just amazing! That bass is insaaaaane af

Another great work man!! Keep the covers coming!!🎸
This is awesome
God bless whoever reads this, Jesus loves you.
Pffttt! I could do that! *full disclosure - no I can't
I love that you're so versatile.
*BEEFY*
Thanks for the hearted comment. I subscribed partly because of this. The biggest reason I subbed is because you're awesome. The push to subscribe was when you heart a comment it shows appreciation for your appreciator. I follow lots of musicians and see how they interact through the comments. If they can't be bothered to bothered to acknowledge the people who support their efforts and dreams then I can't be bothered to pay attention to them. And to be clear, I'm not expecting them to personally acknowledge ME but when the entire comment section is void of their interaction I'm going to unsub and give my time and encouragement to the humble musicians with only a handful of subscribers who show appreciation to their subscribers. You're going to be successful, not only because of your skills but because you are a real person.
Thank you. I’m just driven to play and share with no expectation of any reciprocity. The least I can do is appreciate any praise I am given 🙏
@@shaneboulosmusic you've got the heart and spirit of a true artist. I'm going to keep my eyes on you and wish for your success!

You killed it dude! I love playing this on my 5 string jazz for the top grind but it just doesn't get the CHUNK you're getting. Love the sound!
Thank you! 🙏
