How many test route does gatehead have
They keep changing/updating the routes and had to take some out due to the A1 roadworks. The DVSA doesn't publish the routes so we instructors only find out the routes by either reviewing our dashcam footage after tests or sitting in on tests. There's usually about 15 different routes.
Thanks
Do certain test routes come up at different times or is it all random
@@stevenfarrage6835 generally random but some routes might not be used at busy times.
Thanks
Great videos. Do you have videos of full test routes.
No, your instructor should be able to show them. These videos are simply an aid to understand how to negotiate the more tricky parts.
Thanks
Only 1 test route full vedio. Why there is no more?
There are no full routes, these videos are only suggestions on how to navigate the trickier sections found on some routes.
Ask your instructor to take you on this route.
What did you fail on?
cane you make full video with the routes please i faild on this route 😢 will be helpufull to show all the tips of the route
cane you pleasee make full routes😢 will be helpufull to shou all the tips of the routes
My friend drove the same he failed his test as u not using left lane for third exit i dont seen anyone doing this
With the greatest respect, you should be sceptical how people who have failed their test describe why. If you drive that route, as you're approaching the double roundabout you will see a sign on the left saying the left lane is for taking the A184 Gateshead, and A185 to Newcastle, and the right lane for A185 to Blaydon. Then as you get to the 3 lanes in-between the 2 roundabouts, the left lane markings say left to Gateshead, the middle lane markings say right to Newcastle and the right hand lane says right to Blaydon. This video shows the lane to use to get to the Scotswood Bridge (Newcastle) and is 100% correct. Who should you trust more, a driving instructor with nearly 20 years in the job and over 50 years driving experience or a new driver who failed their driving test?
that was fast hew
Why did you make me watch this ?
These are great! I'm a learner have been for a while now and these are so helpful!
Thanks for this!!
Should read West Road
As far as I know this route is no longer used but is still useful to know.
Cheers mate videos helping me get clarity on these annoying roundabouts and really simplifies them
Cheers, I've just added 4 more, this time with commentary.
I recorded these a number of years ago and are only part of some routes used back then. The test centers continuously alter or add/remove their routes. Gateshead is a lot different to the areas used from the Sandy Lane test centre. I always teach my students in the area that they live in. If you really want to change to Gateshead, you should find an instructor who works that area.
Thanks for these videos. Please, are these all the test routes in Gateshead or are there others I should be aware of? I just changed my test location to Gateshead from Gosforth since I live in Gateshead. Good choice?
These are not full routes, just parts of routes showing the more dificult sections
Is it a full driving route? How we can find other routes? Thanks for sharing
No, just how to cope with this part of the route but this has been changed since I recorded it. See the top comment.
Im quite confused with the roundabot at the end
The roundabout at Sambuca/KFC isn't used now, this route now heads towards the Scotswood Bridge
Layout of the second roundabout is quite weird. I guess it's to improve the flow of traffic but if you don't know ahead of time which lane to be in it would be easy to get caught out
I believe this route is no longer used but it's still useful to know. of the 3 lanes between the double roundabout, the left goes left towards A1 south or Axwell Park, the right-hand lane you keep to the right and exit into the right which will take you towards Blaydon (there's a video for this) leaving the middle lane in which you stay to the left around the roundabout which takes you towards the Scotswood Bridge. HTH
Hello, why do you need to change lane to right at 0:44?
If you read the sign on the left and the markings on the road it tells us to use the right hand lane to go to Blaydon, Ryton & Prudhoe so as we are going to Blaydon we use that lane. Hope that helps.
The roundabout where you have to stay in the middle lane to go ahead - where are the road signs warning you that the left is left-only? So if you've never been there, the road is busy, or the road is covered in snow, so you cannot see the arrow that is painted right before the roundabout, you fail your test, cause an accident, or just generally get to be an ass? Brilliant.
Pls where is d audio for ds video
There's no audio on any of these videos but all have captions telling you how to do each one.
is it real test?@@KD88RET
@@TravelRavi It is a part of a test route.
Hi there I learnt a lot from your videos, can you please make a video on market lane roundabout third exit,I failed my test last week on that roundabout, and that was the only mistake I did,can you please explain its third exit from an exit before Lidl, please please please, that roundabout is in gateshead test route.

Been looking for a video on this, thank you so much!
Glad you found it useful.
Get a life
This was helpful for my driving lesson
loving this clip Pal
Thought I'd lost this video - I am in the Megane ahead of you. Nice to have a video of myself from outside the car for a change. Quality driving by the way.
It's my daughter and her car, she lets me have a play though. She used to race karts and is a proper petrol-head.
This is brilliant!
