    Good to know why the video’s seemed to do nothing with the feedback, but that you figuring things out :) Why not make one video a week instead of prerecording a bunch? That way you can interact with your subscribers and perhaps try out some of the suggestions. Nice to see the Brighouse fuel train being built! I recommend taking back crude oil from Brighouse, to make the line profitable. Trains are most profitable if they have cargo both ways(!) Also check how much fuel Brighouse wants by clicking the town name, before extending the train too much. Good luck :)

    I'm giving you a thumbs up at 5sec in. I have been so busy lately that I need to go back to episode 4, at least, to catch up. I'm glad that your still going and know that when life calms down, I'm going to be looking forward to all that you have done. Cheers,

    Roads don’t have to be that expensive, try building them in small or tiny segments :) Also you can use the M and N keys (with Shift) to raise or lower the road from the middle. And turn on the terrain height map (icon top left of your screen). This allow you to make the road follow the terrain. It will be much cheaper. Also, roads will pay themselves back, if the lines utilizing them will be shorter / quicker. They will cost you once, but don’t have maintenance cost (unless you decide to own the road, which is optional and usually not necessary). One more tip: set the lines up to wait until full (at the line settings on the stops). This way carts won’t ride empty. Which is expensive. And you have a visual indicator (carts piling up on a station), when you have more carts than needed. Good luck! 👍🏻

    It's crap that you've been not so well and yet keep working at posting vids. I'm giving you the 4th thumbs up cause I wanna see more, but... you've got to catch up to us that have created shorter lines between stations. Time is money and the shorter the distance traveled the more $$ you will make. You still have not made a shorter route between Exmouth and Hythe, this is costing you thousands in profits, not to mention the shortcut possible between the Exmouth crude and refinery alone. Your building up the steel mill, yet we don't know where steel is going to be delivered. Mean while I'm thinking about where I'm going to build the Hythe train station to connect with the rest of the map. Sorry to be so blunt, but you did mention that shortcut from the crude refinery to the fuel producer was a good idea and you still haven't built it? I'm jones's for more and I wanna see what you do next, hope you feel better soon.

      I hear what you say. It has been a weird few weeks. When I started this I tried to record a few episodes in batches because I have to combine this with family and work. I couldn't even imagine this little trial run would explode like this (which I have to thank you all for). Thank you so much for the engagement. Currently I'm focussing more on the south part of the lines to expand as you can see (more to follow, including destination for the steel mill, in next one). The northern part hasn't been that much on my mind but I am drawing out a plan to use trains to distribute the oil and fuel. It demands heaps of money but I will push harder to realise that. Maybe I'm too focussed on that but it makes me hesitant to draw the shortcut. Overall we are close to upgrading to a tad more modern material so I have to keep that in mind too. One learning I get from this is try to work on a schedule to use the feedback on a much shorter basis. The comments have been so helpful and I appreciate it but keep in mind that I'm trying to learn from this.

    Nice seeing a new TF2 video! Your voice wasn’t bad at all to listen to in my opinion. I don’t think there is a limit to the materials a factory can stock. But the supplier (for example the coal or iron mine) will limit how much you can transport by looking at the demand (indirectly) of the end product (what the city demands). To find out how much a city wants, you click on the city’s name. The demand listed there, you can match with the line rate of the line supplying the city. Hope this helps :) Also I saw an opportunity to make good money. There’s an oil well near Brighouse, and Brighouse needs fuel. If you build a station in Brighouse, and drop crude oil there with a new line. Then the line that drops fuel in Brighouse can bring back crude oil to the oil refinery. That way you make money both ways on that line. And that is the road to success ;-) But do note that you might need to stop picking up crude oil at Exmouth for this to work because of the low total demand currently. Good luck with the channel and the game! Looking forward to the next video :)

      Thanks for the support! The extension of the Brighouse line makes sense. I think eventually I want to improve the line with a train but I think I need to wait for that a bit longer and get things settled.

    You can do trains in 1850, just make sure they run at least half full both ways :) It’s best to use just one type of wagon. So for example move grain to a food plant and take back coal or iron ore back to a steel mill.

      @IGNiTiON_mp 2 місяці тому

      My personal experience is that it is so expensive to build a good functioning train line. So I think I'll try to wait a bit to get some good cash flow going and then we will start a train line.

    • @scriptician
      @scriptician 2 місяці тому

      @ Yeah true, they are expensive. Understandable you want to build up some savings before doing it. But they do make more profit as well, because they are faster. It’s tricky but they will be worth it when done right :) Good luck! And remember, you can go back a save game, if it does not work :) Good luck!

    Great stuff. I would directly connect the oil refinery to the fuel refinery with a nice straight road. Also definitely do a clockwise line for the passengers.

    • @scriptician
      @scriptician 2 місяці тому

      Yeah I agree, this would bring in more money for the oil loop. Because you get paid for the direct distance between the two stations (as the crow flies). The more you divert from a straight path, the less money you make.

      That's a good one. It makes sense that it calculates the income in a straight line instead of driven km's. I haven't really thought about that until now. Thanks for the tips! Really appreciate it.

      Wow. Now that you say it! Why didn't I think of this before? Roads are expensive but it could cut the travel time down. Thank you for the tip. I have some plans laid out already so I have to think about what the best cost effective way is. And I'm not feeling too well so I hope I remember this when I get out of bed and feel better. Appreciate that you took the time to comment, thanks!

    Enjoying your series. If I understand the passenger line correctly, you have the line going from city 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4 and 4 to 1 and so forth. That means you have no way for a passenger travel from city 4 to city 3 unless they get on at city 4 and travel all the way to cities 1 and 2 before getting to city 3. This means they are occupying a space that will gain you no income most of the way. Because to the time, they might not even get on the stage and decide to "walk" as it is faster. I would suggest another line going in the opposite direction going counter clockwise from city 1 to 4, 4 to 3, 3 to 2 and 2 to 1. I believe you will increase the passenger revenue with little additional cost. Right now you are running about 20 stages to go on the one-way loop. I think you could run two lines with of 14 stages each and increase your overall revenue as you will not have as many passengers taking up a seat for the whole distance.

    • @IGNiTiON_mp
      @IGNiTiON_mp 2 місяці тому

      Thank you so much. I'm quite new at this so it means a lot to me that people enjoy this. I'm also still thinking about what's best for the passenger line. It seems like they do unload fully so that would mean 100% cashflow per leg of the trip. But I do think to improve the service/profitability we might need to add a counter clockwise line. For now it seems like there is not a huge amount of money lost so I might wait for better passenger carts and make an episode for the optimisation of the passenger lines (maybe connect even more cities). Thank you for your input, I will keep this in mind for the future.
