I can see that it can be difficult for old congregations to accept the service in another language. I am Greek Orthodox and I can see on my church which is mostly Greeks that there are a lot of negative comments when they try to introduce parts of the liturgy in English. And is only fair when all the regulars are Greeks over 70 years old and barely speak English.

Wearing black symbolizes taking on the darkness of the fallen world, and illumining it through the life of sacrifice, repentance, service, chastity,obediance, etc.

Our priest in our Antiochian Orthodox Church is Scottish and is great at what he does. My sincere apologies that you experienced this.

This was beautiful. I'm new to Orthodoxy, can someone explain to me why this concert didn't occur on January 7th of next year? I'm not trying to stir the pot, I'm genuinely curious, because I thought old calendarist celebrate Christmas on January 7th.
