[SECOND FRONT] Leovo Pursuit Top rank in 2 turns
This scenario for the game Second Front by Microprose describes a fierce battle between Russians and Germans in 1944.
The Russians are supported by four 82mm mortars, devastating weapons with a 50% reload.
I had a bit of luck, which allowed me to win this game in just 2 rounds.
This doesn't happen every day!

[SECOND FRONT] That's all folks TOP RANK gameplay

That's all folks is a very hard to win scenario for MICROPROSE tactical game SECOND FRONT. In order to win, you must be very lucky and this is what this video is all about. All the story relies on one HMG which neither breaks nor malfunctions at any time, and which kills American troops every single turn. If this is not achieved by the German player, then he has no chance to win. Try it but you...

Continuing our series on the D DAY, here is one of the most difficult scenarios for the game of MICROPROSE: Second Front. Jo Bader, who is also the developer of the game, has crafted a real nightmare for the American gamer, knowing that reality may have surpassed fiction. So in the shoes of an American commander, you must capture a ridge topped by a bunker, without losing too many men. All this...

Seize the railway junction is a scenario for the excellent MICROPROSE tactical game SECOND FRONT. It shows a Russian couter-attack against Germans defending a vital railway crossroad in june 1941 at start of operation Barbarossa. A very good experience in managing a combined armor/infantry force challenging Germans heavily equiped with lots of rapid fire AT guns. Have fun!

Swatting Flies is a good scenario for MICROPROSE game Second Front. It involves a battle where the Germans have to take a victory goal first, and then defend it against a horde of Russian infantry with tanks. Combine your MGs vs targets in good cover….you fp is too low for effects
Thank you, i was pretty much doing the same but the advice on not moving the mmgs and using the stugs to shoot smoke finally let me win this one.
How to determine if an enemy position's overwatch fire is exhausted? Sometimes I tried to draw fire with some squads but still got shot when moving other troops across some open area.
At 4:40 you move fast when Germans are red, what does that mean? They are red so become less effective on overwatch fire? And how to make them into yellow/red?
Yes, they have limited overwatch fire during your turn. So once they've gone red, you know they can't fire again so it's safe to move in *that* units line of fire. When you select an enemy unit, the hexes it can fire on are shown with a yellow hex inside the main one, you see this a few times in the vid.
Damn, you pushed me off the throne with that bold but perfectly executed melee action! GGWP!
Anyway, reaching 90 pts seems to be possible.
TBH I do not think this is a good scenario. If you don't immediately kill the mortar at the start you might as well just give up and start over. This amount of reliance on luck to decide things does not strike me as good design.
I agree. I do not like this one. It relies to much on luck with a narrow path based on the HMG team. Having it either broken or malfunction, and you can say bye bye to victory.
Agreed. You are one of the best players of this game, it's not a question, but you were unbeleivably lucky with both the machine gun reload times (sometimes 6-7 in a row) and the RNG of the hit percentages. Nevertheless congratulations for this victory!
@@antalbencsik4345 Sure! A player will not have such victory in every day! Anyway such reloads with an 50% MG along with rng are not uncommon. But in this game, luck is more on the MG team not breaking in front of the American heavy firepower! Thanks for watching.
@@SecondFrontwithClayroger Yes, in this particular scenario with no room to maneuver and very little tactical possibilities RNG is basically everything. :)
Thanks for the upload and the tips! I jumped to the 5th place of the leaderboard named Abdul. :) And if I don't lose one of my Jagds like an idiot (ok, it was a misclick), It could have been better. :) Btw I'm very curious about a "Thats all Volks" gameplay, that scenario feels like a (very bad) joke for me. :)
Thanks for watching!
The scenario in the Steam Workshop is "ASL T5 The Pouppeville Exit (US attack)" by Lazybones.
You best me 😢😢😢
Very good strategy. Congratulations.
Thank you Antonio! I just hope that it helps newcommers to enjoy the beauty of this game.
Good play-through and a solid victory. I would have moved my 9-1 leader up to join the melee at the end to help boost their chances. Finally, might want to credit the scenario author from the workshop, I hear he put a lot of work into it.
Bird noises loud af
Great play demonstrating that you need to be bold and really push in this scenario.
Agressive gameplay is the key. Thanks for watching!
Another example of how to push forward and achieve victory in this game. That enemy a/t gun by the station took a lot of fire before it capitulated!
Thanks for watching! This shows how difficult it is to use tanks to destroy a well entrenched gun in this game. Better use infantry and/or mortars.
Good strategy
Another great demonstration of how to push to victory in this game. Great stuff.
Thank you for having created this good scenario!
@@SecondFrontwithClayroger this one isn't mine!
@@thestoicsteve OOOPS! 😅
@@thestoicsteve Sorry for the confusion!
This has been so useful. I have struggled with this scenario, being too cautious/timid with the German forces. Thanks for posting.
These videos are made to help. Happy it did!
Had to drive far and fast to get the objectives there!
Curious to see how you handle the last part. My first playthrough of this a little while back was pretty similar to your first 3 parts, but it bogged down vs the last objective thanks to the dug in AT gun - I did win it, but only on the very last turn which is hardly ideal.
You will not be disappointed! 😉
Thanks for playing and showing my scenario creation. I was new to SF back when it was designed. I think I am getting better.
Hey, thanks for watching! This scenario is fun to play! I recommend it.
Very well executed
Thank you! Hope this helps.
Sadness. I looked for the smoke buttons on the tanks, didn't see them, so played without. If only I'd looked a couple inches to the left! Won anyway, but the smokes sure would have been helpful ;)
There is always something to learn from other's gameplay. Looking forward your own experience on this tough one.
Bonjour, enfin une traduction en VF ! Encore 🤗
Nice work as usual. I played this recently, though my recording won't post for a couple weeks. The only constructive thing I can say is that your light vehicles behind the hedges would be better off on the raised ground behind them, so they can ignore the visual obstruction of the fields in front, thus getting better pew pew vs the Soviet infantry.
Good idea. Will check that pew pew position next time I play this scenario! Thanks for watching.
Showing great tactics that we can all use to make our game better. Thanks for this!
Thank you for watching!
Well done, very impressive, first place on a beast of a scenario - though you made it look easy.
Thanks. This game is soo good! I hope it helps new players.
A great demo of this mode, ie Breakthrough. Note that the Victory Point value of the currently selected units appears at lower right, next to the unit icons.
Thank you Stoic. I forgot to talk about the VP feature, you are correct. Will check if I can modify this and reload.
You make it look easy. Very aggressive advance works out well, using excellent tactics.
Thank you. That's Bitzkieg! 😉
Some great techniques shown there. One point worth pointing out to newer players is that even though you had captured all the Victory Points, you didnt get a victory because there were still some enemy reinforcements still to arrive. When they had all arrived on map, and you had removed the enemies from the VP which they had crept back into, then you won and were given victory.
Correct! I was unsure about this rule, but will definitively give the tip in one of my next video. Thanks for watching.
Some good and aggressive and successful tactics in use there. I like the annotations on the screen showing the important points when playing the game!
Thank you Stoic. I thought that it would good for beginers to read that out.
Hi Clayroger! Your tutorial videos are really an excellent initiative. They are very useful and even essential to progress and to make the effort to better use the Manual. Cheer ! 🪖🪖🪖
Thanks! If you have a scenario request, let me know.
wow that was a quick win. Run towards the enemy one at a time, have them fire at you and hope you have enough men to move up to them and close combat them. It worked here!
