Pacific Pinball Museum Surplus Sale Preview Walkthrough

I got to do a small walkthrough of the games the Pacific Pinball Museum (aka. PPM) is selling to help raise funds. The sale will take place on Sunday, June 2nd. The Pacific Pinball Museum is a non-profit museum located in Alameda, California. I would be as bold as to claim it as the most educational pinball museum you could visit. They have above each of their games information cards that share...

The Untold Story behind Pinball Brothers New Ripley Version
Loved the camera 📷 angle on mt phone ❤ could literally spin all the way around. Very kool
@@robbymovick465 Sweet! Yeah love this feature and getting to do that 😄 there’s so much to see!
I watched for 23 minutes thinking "Erika is usually better at filming/editing than this". The camera was pointed at a very dumb angle, but then I figured out I was supposed to control that. Very cool, and now I know, thanks for sharing.
@@somedude8335 glad you figured it out! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
That was really fun! I watched it on my TV and was able to use the remote to control the camera. I especially liked when you went inside the machines and I could look around, super compelling!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I have yet to watch it on a tv. So cool to hear about your remote working! And yeah I thought going into the games would be a fun experience 🤓 definitely I wanna do more of that! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Great video Erika! I would strongly advise everyone to click the settings gear/icon and change the quality to 1080, video is way clearer that way. I watched it on the Playstation UA-cam app, and being able to move the camera around using the Playstation controller's analog stick was super smooth and a lot of fun. It was awesome to see everything they had for sale there, thanks for sharing and keep it up! Your videos are really entertaining. Much love from "Pinburgh", PA!
Wow that’s so cool! Didn’t know you could watch it on the PlayStation! That’s awesome the controller works smoothly for this. Thanks so much for watching and your support 🙏❤️ wish I could attend Pinburgh! Hopefully next year 😊
Please do not 360 again. It was a struggle to watch that. I had to finally turn ot off after a couple minutes
@peggrav8190 apologize for the watch. I have been debating to release two versions of these types of videos. Where one is 360 for people that like to look around and another that is not 360 for people that prefer not to. I’ll keep this in mind. I’ll look to release a non-360 version of this video.
@erikaspinballjourney not sure how it looked to others, but mine was horrible and blurry. It's a great idea, tried this dirt bike racing a couple times, but UA-cam always kills the resolution. Anyway, it would have been fun to be there and seen the cool stuff. No disrespect to you, and I enjoy your streams. Long live pinball
@@peggrav8190 if you go into the UA-cam settings you can change the resolution. I think the default is 720p which is super blurry. But thank you for your continued support 🙏❤️😊
Oh and word you where looking for is saucer for those kick out holes
Great Job Erika and Manu. The video was why more clear this time. Manu was right about atari pins. However. Superman was the first version 2 cab from them where they moved all the electronic boards out from the bottom of the table and into the head. I remember saying this about Superman at NWPAS. But the score displays where LED instead of plasma. This is amazing Atari did this in 1979. As every other manufacture stuck with plasma till dot matrix. If you replace them today everyone changes them to LED. So atari was really ahead of the curve. And if you bought that table. It's very likely those displays still work. I know I buy that for 900 looked good.
Thank you so much for watching! Glad the quality was better. I was able to get it to 4K I believe on my export. It just takes a long time to process and export these 360 videos. However, I love that people can explore all around in them :) Good to know about Superman! And yeah I think $900 is a great price for that game!
Mike really made Bond a special game. Big respect to him.
Yeah the game evolved a lot! The new code is awesome :D
I wonder what the next Album will be 🤔
Me too! 🤓
This is awesome right here!
@@pdl.80 glad you like it! 😄
Wow, awesome walkthrough! It took me over an hour to get through because I kept pausing it and googling machines I hadn't heard of before (especially the homebrew section). Excellent video!
Glad you enjoyed it! And yeah I figured making it 360 would give people the chance to really look around and pause and check things out. Thanks for the watch!
I'll definitely give that album a listen!
Weird Al! I'm doing the "Buy broken games and trade them up for more expensive games" method, but so far I kept all the games I fixed up...
@@ThePinballNoob the pinball struggle is real haha I feel that. Sold my Hot Wheels which helped to fund my Weird Al, but I still think about it and kinda miss it. 😅
@@erikaspinballjourney Aw the Hot Wheels! I have always heard good things but never got a chance to play one. It's gotta be hard to decide what to sell at that point
@@ThePinballNoob yeah, how I depend on what stays is probably very different from someone else
Use to cost me a dime to play my favorite game. They even had payouts after 50 games won. If you knew how to play, 50 games won was a cinch. Cost you about 30 cents to get a 4 bagger which was 16 games. Then you’d get to switch the letters and win 16 games 4 more times. After you got the letters each ball was automatically no less than 16 games x 4. Great game. You just had to worry about tilt, which automatically ended the game. What game am I playing? Here’s a hint, it was 1973.
@@brettallison5753 hmm this is a tough guess for me. The 70’s games I haven’t been playing as much lately. I have a 70’s game! I just need to fix it 😅 I have a 4 square. So I know you’re not playing that one. My guesses would be King Pin, Oxo, or maybe High Hand?
@@erikaspinballjourney get that game fixed. Those are lost gems and worth it. Even if it cost several hundred. That could be worth thousands. None of those were the answers. But you did name a few that r a blast from the past.
@@brettallison5753 I’m still trying to make my guess 😅 brb scrolling pinside lol
@@brettallison5753 is it Gulfstream?
@@erikaspinballjourney no.
Absolutely. Started off 2024 with 2 pins. Now have 12!
@@alexmacias2988 woah! That’s a collection! Congrats 😄🤘 I started 2022 with 1 and I think ended up with like 5 haha. Pinball is so fun! 🤩
Typically takes us a year or more to save per pin. Started learning repair, and now we find the $300-500 pins and fix them up in between.
@@peggrav8190 yeah games are expensive! The older ones now have some decent deals. It’s cool you learned how to start how to fix games! I’m still a big beginner, but would love to have the time to fix games 🤓 it’s fun!
Where can I find good deals on the machines? I'm practically brand new to the hobby
@@elbuhdai605 as much as I want that to be an easy question, there is so much to consider what is a good deal. I guess it would depend on how comfortable you feel with fixing a game or if you have people in your area that knows how to fix games. I have a draft script for a “what I wish I knew before a bought a pinball machine” video. But I’ve had luck with Facebook marketplace and Pinside.com for games. On pinside you can see what the average prices for games are too.
@elbuhdai605 as said, I find games on Facebook, auctions, pinside, and estate sales. "The good deal" often comes with some repair work, or a game in need of some serious TLC. If you aren't familiar with electrical, and repair, I would avoid most of those good deals, and find something someone is home used, and working. I have 2 for sale now(Delta Queen, and a Big Deal) in the $500 range, but both need some love, attention, and minor repairs.
@erikaspinballjourney Thanks! Yeah I'm comfortable with my own maintenance as I have other hobbies that have made me rather handy. I think I saw your other video but will check it out again.
I totally understand Erika. I have three pins and definitely want more. My bank account and space in our basement says otherwise 😂
@@starcitycreations it’s the pinball struggle 😅 I luckily still have some space, it’s just my wallet that doesn’t agree with me 😂
I always wonder ..what is the dream theme for a guy like Mike or Dwight..is there one theme that would be their #1 theme of all time and if it would lead to exciting new ideas for code/rule design.
That would be fun to know! I’ll look to add that to my questions to ask him next time 😊
@erikaspinballjourney That would be cool!..I know when I think of my dream themes I always have an idea firna cool mech to go into it!
Cool video! I want a stern tour so bad haha.
If you are able to attend Expo in Chicago you are able to go in the tour 😄 If not I will be releasing my Stern Your video soon as to give that inside look! Glad you liked the video 😄
I haven't seen an interview with Mike before. It's very cool to hear from him. Thanks Erika!
Mike is so great! If you haven’t checked out Electric Bats UA-cam channel yet they have done some pods with him :) Glad you enjoyed this video!
Loving your pinball channel Erika. I love the way Stern is pushing the envelope in regards to new pinball innovations, especially with this new System they have in the works. I have a big collection of Sterns in my gameroom, but most of them don’t have Stern Insider connect on them, especially the older titles such as LOTR, but there’s no way I would walk past them because they don’t have it. I always wondered if Stern would re-do some these titles with the updated LCD screen displaying movie clips over the “cartoon” animations, but not a big game changer in my book because I kinda enjoy them any way.
Thank you so much for support! ❤ And I do too! Stern is doing an amazing job! As for older games giving them insider connected or changing the LCD screen I do know that would come with other challenges such as licensing and the software. But who knows maybe we could see some of that in the future! Also LOTR great game 🤩 I love mine 🥰
Im only 25 enemies away from mine!!!!
LFG!!! 😄🤘🤘🤘
This place looks amazing so many pins & arcades. Great job on the video, I love the 360 view. this reminds me of when I used to make walkthrough Videos at the Museum of pinball back in the day miss those day and that place so much you would have absolutely loved it.
Thanks for watching! And yeah bummed I never got to see it! I’m sure I would have loved it 😊
That was awesome, so cool to see the behind the scenes stuff. I really like the John Wick pin, I have only played the pro but looking for a premium & LE to play.
I was wanting to buy that one too! lol
Idk if you follow me on instagram… but I ended up buying it 🤪 had sold my Hot Wheels and System 11 games. Soooo I pulled the trigger 😅
@@erikaspinballjourney yessss! Looking forward to seeing some P3 content!
The ultimate top three classic pinball machines are BMX , Evel Knievel , and KISS by Bally.
Congrats to the winners
Great video Erika!
Thank you!
I love your new camera! Thanks for sharing this footage.
Thanks! I’m loving it too 😄🤘 Glad I could share it.
Here for 3rd entry dream theme would be sonic the hedgehog
Venture Bros. Pinball!
What is the top center button on machines?
That button is on a bunch of the new more modern games. It’s known as the action button. You will mainly see it on the Stern games with an LCD screen. They do different things on different games. I hope to do a mini series helping to cover that at some point :)
Nice to see the non-pinball areas being populated. Not the biggest arcade show around but still a good spot for those that want to place to play for that weekend. Not sure if it is UA-cam compression or the 360 camera or something else but the resolution doesn't seem to be there for picking out details. Still, this is a good look at the place with the 360 format allowing me to easily orient and direct myself without needing to keep track of where I am in aisles.
Yeah was a nice chill show 😄 and I think I uploaded my video to 4k. I shot it 5.6k native, then had it slightly compressed so the file wouldn’t be so big, but good to know for next time! Maybe it would be worth for me to upload a bigger file. Glad you enjoyed the video! 😊
Really hard to pin down one dream theme, but I think a Resident Evil pinball machine (video game, not the films), would make for a cool pinball machine. It could combine several of the games with various video modes and such. My choice would be the pinball magic translate. Keep up the great work!
Dude yessss
Thanks! 😄
Stern Jaws such a great choice premium ones sick
I'd be great to experience Robin Williams featured in a pin. Night at the Museum might reach a wide audience. Additional callout-pizazz from Ben Stiller could produce some laughs too.
Dream theme for me is a tough one... Matrix, Constantine, or Road Warrior. Great stuff, and keep it coming.
All great picks! I'd love to see a Matrix pin! And thanks! More to come soon :)
My dream theme would be Green Day! I’m hopeful it will happen.
I always enjoy seeing pin warehouse tours and all was pretty cool! It would be awesome to see you do a tour from the spooky pinball factory in WI, could possibly see Scooby - Doo, Looney tunes - the Jetsons - Alice Cooper's nightmare castle - all great pinball machines,
Oooh yeah that would be cool! I’ll see if they will let me get a tour 🤓
Congrats on 800! Still grinding away on my channel as well but still have a ways to my goal as well.. My dream theme (that has zero chance of getting made) would be Voltron or Thundercats Dream themes that have a chance of getting made. Back to the Future and Masters of the Universe...you will be at 1k beifre tou know it
Thank you! And I see your grind, keep it up :) and Thundercats! Oh man would be awesome.
I'd love a pin based on some old school Nickelodeon like Dexters Lab 😍
Tried to enter a different “great” theme on each of your platforms, for here I’ll choose “Star Wars” original trilogy. Yes I am aware that this theme already exists and was to be my first NIB, but don’t really like the latest iteration! 😭
1-Following you here on UA-cam. Thank you for not keeping the giveaway platform exclusive to another platform as this is the only social media account I have. 2-Dream Theme? This is a hard one for me to pick. I feel like there are loads of great video game themes that can work well. One theme that I'm shocked doesn't exist is Sonic as I think that is a good realistic one. Looking at other themes that had popular movies made of them could be a good indicator of what could translate well to pinball. So, Lego is another pinball game that I could see happen albeit a bit on the unorthodox side. Translite that I'd want? Pinball Magic easily. Played that game and was hooked on it. I'm shocked that its copycat is over 4 times as popular when I think that Pinball Magic beats it in a handful of categories.
Totally! Glad to make it available for you :) I do know that there was a homebrew Sonic. And I am sure Sega has plans to make one that never panned through or so. But we just may see one! And lego could be cool too! Pinball Magic is also a great choice :D
Dream pin would hands down be Daft Punk!
Congratulations on the accomplishment, you deserve it and more! 🎉 My dream theme is Maximum Overdrive. It's got Stephen King in his coked up creative glory, has the right campy/scary ratio and has AC/DC providing the tunes! Can't beat it!
Thank you so much! Oooh nice B)
It's really hard to name just one dream theme. Even though I'm a bigger fan of original themes these days, I wouldn't mind seeing The Dark Crystal. Given the success of Labyrinth, it's quite possible.
With SIC levels, spending experience on variable difficulty like moterized outlane posts, etc... and episodic content. World of Warcraft
Not sure if I have a specific "dream theme." I am all about variability in themes. As a shoutout to my daughter, though, I would pick "Daughter of the Deep" by Rick Riordan
Dream theme is of course…like all the pinheads, BTTF.
