The AWD system is very good in the 06 Gen 2 CRV AWD... I have heard after the 3 Gen things were not as good. I have since sold the vehicle.

The Honda CRV was sold... Wanted a ute for the trail bike.. also it's the "other" vehicle when my wife and I go camping/off-road, all the gear will be in Navara. The XJ is the " Play" toy etc..

Hardly any noise difference from the original H/T tyres. The only noise is a slight humming between 60 to 80 klms. Had them on for one year and done 10000 klms with about 3/5 % wear, so outstanding at present.

Yea, not good... Broke a new breaker bar😮🤔. I thought stuff it, l will get a new hub too... At least I now know it's all new gear.

Seems odd, do you have the appropriate tires for the season ?

This was taken a few Sundays ago... As you can see, took the CRV AWD for a run to Waterfall crk Rd... The vid only shows a small section of Newman's Rd leading to Waterfall crk Rd. Yes it's unbelievably green out there at present. With all this rain the moo cows are loving it. Love this area. I did Cannons crk road ( lovely scenery on that section) then on to Newman's then Waterfall CK Rd. Stopped at the reserve/ camping ground.

If there is no resistance on the front wheels the rear differential and dual pumps generally won't work/engage. The vehicle needs to be on the ground. Go find a small patch of grass or loose surface and have a helper to see if the rear engages once the front wheels loose traction/spin.

Thanks for your comments, very much appreciated. Yes I was lucky to find a rust free XJ.. it gave me a nice platform to start with.. it's got new windscreen/tyres/brakes/ tie rod ends/ full clean an detail. stage 2 is a winch with a new front bar and rock sliders.

Yes it was in a rather sad state when I got it, but there was no major issue, just need a good clean and detail plus some attention to the brakes/steering/tyres etc... my brief is to keep it in original shape but enhance its capabilities, without going silly...👍

Generally yes, if you remove the rear drive shaft the vehicle can still be driven via the front wheels. But this can only be done if the rear differential can freely spin, IE.. no damage to rear differential/ rear bearings etc...but doing this is not recommended.

Thanks, it's a simple setup but it works well, combing the solar panel/ controller into the system... The XJ is finished and ready for RWC.. will be on the road after Christmas. Just been busy with work🤬, I do have to get a new front right axel/CV/ to replace the original. Ok to drive on road but NOT off-road. Am looking forward to driving this beast😎😊🚙

VSA stands for Vehicle Stability Assist. It helps to keep cars handling correctly during cornering, particularly if the system’s sensors detect understeer or oversteer. @@Wolf4wdadventures.576 Thank you so much. I had no idea. I thought this VSA was part of the AWD system you described in your video, but VSA has nothing to do with that. Too bad Honda can't give a description as good as yours in the owners manual.

@@swerne01 so for example, i have some issues on my abs system, that causes the vsa is always off, this has nothing to do twith the awd or 4x4 system right? i don't know much about it, when i lift up the car and put Drive, the 4 wheels spin... i don't know if that's a good signal :D

@@James0208 I don't know much about the VSA system either. That's why I sent my original question to the creator of the video. You probably need to send a comment to him.

@@James0208. Correct the VSA, ABS, has nothing to do with the AWD dual pump system. I explained the VSA in an above comment.

Very important to change out the old oil in the diff.. replenish with the correct dual pump oil from Honda. Hopefully this should work.

If it makes a howling sounds it’s probably your clutch disc inside the differential. It could also just be the old fluid but might want to change the disc inside the differential.

Hi there, Firstly they are great on road, as it's my daily driver it's see a lot of highway running. I have had them on since February and there is hardly any wear so far. Great in the wet. I have heard that they are ok in the wet but again I have had absolutely no issues. Good grip in both dry and wet. As for the size I went up a little to give me more sidewall for off-road work. They are very close to the bottom of the shock tower in the front., But there is no rubbing on full lock turns. Overall I'm very happy with them on the Honda. I have had these same tyres on my Jeeps etc and again allways preformed well in all situations.
