A fellow UA-camr made a suggestion. If not anything else it cleaned up the burb. I wanted to clean up the billboard space and someone just happened to make a comment about my “non partner” advertising. You know who you are thanks! Looked like a fun ride!
It was!
Well done! Love the Ozarks.
Thanks!
DID YOU BUILD YOUR OWN ROCK GUARDS
Yes if it’s fabricated I did it all in my driveway.
HEY GUYS LOVE YOUR CHANNEL I HAVE AN 2002 BURB 1500 SO I LOVE WATCHING SUBURBANS TRAIL RIDING , WHAT SIZE LIFT AND TIRES DO YOU RUN AND WHAT ARE YOU GEARED
Thanks I really appreciate it. Solid axle swapped about 5” from stock, 33s, 4.10 gears.
Good time wheelin that day!
not a bad day at all!
When they start paying or providing a good or service, then they can cry about what's fair or not.
I agree
We really had a great time wrenching and wheeling with you. Can’t wait until our paths cross again.
Sweet now I have a channel name I can acknowledge you with. And yes can’t wait till we cross paths again. Thank you for all the help too.
Looks like a good time. Wheelin Mikels is great, up or down.
It sure is. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the informative video.
only think is have to spray these things multiple times a trip, if you watch any of my recent videos you will notice the squeak!
You don't have any power mods do you? Or did the shaft just get hit in an odd way.
No power mods. The driveshaft hit the ledge, you can hear it rub the rock a clip or two before the breakage.
HEY! AWESOME WORK! Question- at the obstacle around 11:00- Did that white GX that showed up at 13:48 make that same obstacle? If so, was there any damage? We attempted that trail and made it all the way to that obstacle and opted not to chance it with our stock GX. Also, you are VERY correct that it has washed out quite a bit since 2020. 😳
Yes he did make it without body damage. But remember he had people stacking rocks and some watching to keep him from getting body damage. We also had a stock sequoia make it too, it took a little while to get them through that section.
Nice, that trails has been on my list of todos. Now that I have the sliders I think I’ll be good to try it out.
The sliders are must! Thanks for watching.
Looks like a fun trail, I might have to do a few mods and pull my tent off before attempting it!
you don’t need to take the tent off but you better get those sliders on🤣. The ledge, if I would have took a line further to the left it would have been a little easier.
Fun watching too big rigs get through the woods. A little sketch skirting along the creek bank. Thought you were a little close to the edge😁
It wasn’t nearly as tight as a section on the Daniel Boone I did Last year. Thanks for watching. Trove1 has his video out too he really skirts it close.
You two have my favorite 'Burb builds. Really cool ya'll got to meet up.
Thanks I appreciate that. I don’t think this will be our last meet up. It’s about a 5 hour drive to get to his area.
I got to see it coming through Redfield
They make some drill bit electric sharpners
It was good to meet you at RITO. Suburban was doing good on those trails we hit with that solid axel!
Great to meet you too!
Some uh.. creative debeading methods!
Try, try, and try again. 😂
But them stickers looked good on there though
😂 i dont blame yea , and i believe your correct to do this
I would upgrade to a shorter steam atkeast maybe metal
Thanks for the feed back.
Hello, greetings from Pontassieve, Florence, Italy. I have a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a 1.3 liter m13a petrol engine, 2001, all original, which I usually drive on dirt roads on rural farms and on dirt forest roads used by loggers. to get firewood from the forest. With forestry tractors, skidders and forwarders, as well as with forestry machines used to transport wood! And this despite the fact that the 4x4 off-road vehicle with original tuning shows itself very well on such roads!
Wish we could get the jimmy in the states. I had a samurai for a little while and absolutely loved that little rig. Thanks for commenting!
Is there a video to detail your suburban build?
I have videos during the build process, but I have yet to do an official walk around of the burb. It will come very soon, now that the weather has gotten cooler.
I follow u on insta brother thank you
Thanks for following and Thanks for the comment. I’m m trying to get a few more views on my older videos.
You remember that scene where Spongbob spots the boat parking? "You're alright... You're alright..."
Ouch! 😬
Just popped a zip tie. 😆
Late to the party but I have the Depo projectors with some led bulbs and LED high beams. I want to swap some HID bulbs into the projectors but these work for now. I have some cheap 3” pods mounted to my bumper but I’ll try to take a video this week some time. I think I’m pretty sold on picking up some Diode Dynamics to mount as ditch lights and replace the ones on my bumper with them as well.
Nice build! Now I need one lol.
I would like to back and replace cross bars with extruded aluminum. They would be stronger than the steel tubes I used.
Looks like it’s running good, as long as you don’t bury that screw you should have plenty of adjustment. How many miles on that Birb now?
190ish.
You know GM stands for GOOD MECHANIC right 😂 We gotta be
Good to see bus content! 🤘
Thanks man!
Cool video. And super cool project bub -Austin
Thanks. When I’m done it should be a pretty crazy project
I this going to be your new overlanding rig?
I'm hoping to pull the suburban with it, so I have a camper and a tow pig, so if I break like last time I will have a way to get back home without paying U-haul... Also If I can make it comfortable enough it will be my long distance "overlander" .
@@overlandtowater Look forward to seeing you again!
@@naturesglorycabin3792 yes sir, I need to come on one of your rides.
@@overlandtowater What is the bus running for an engine?
5.7l (350)
So good to see the bus running! Man i love that goofy front passenger window 😂
It’s very needed though. I originally thought it would be a good spot for my sponsors stickers but I absolutely need it to see good.
You just had to show off your new auto tracking gimbal huh?
I’m learning with it. It seems anytime I use the Ai part my picture quality suffers though.
@@overlandtowater I film a lot of videos and never get time to edit them. Plus the ones I put a ton of effort in don't tend to do well and the ones I put no effort in tend to do great. Some get 100 views and some get 100,000 views. I stopped paying attention. Keep enjoying yourself is my only recommendation!
I love all the corrosion dust that fell when you turn the pcm cover over 😂 Good work man looking forward to this build 🤘
That was pretty funny. Thanks hopefully I can get some more partners with this build otherwise it’s going to be slow.
I know some good spots that bus can get to! Always fun to see a new project getting started
Awesome! we need to come down your way and hang out we’re just so non stop it’s hard to plan a weekend down there.
I believe you could get a camper style A/C unit that would fit that hatch. Might be more expensive than other setups though. A rooftop tent with a hatch down into the bus would be pretty cool if you could pull it off.
I didn’t think about that. I just automatically thought a max air fan to replace the hatch. I know I’m going to need air flow. Camper air conditioners are so tall though, a mini split is way more slim and can just about be mounted anywhere.
Good art work. Didn’t know you had that talent
I’m full of surprises
Great video! I'm legit excited to watch this build 💯
Thanks I’m sooo exited to get it going.
I love how you laid out the logic for the short bus. Tall bus? I like the kitchenette ala the teardrop trailers. I don't have any experience with 12VDC Minisplits. But I run a 6000BTU 110V AC minisplit off of a EcoFlow Delta 2. It'll run it continuously so long as there is charge. Won't even break a sweat. Uses about 600 watts at surge and continuous about 400watt. A god send in summer in our farm cabin. You could just use the alternator and a DC-DC voltage converter. Or a 3000+ watt 110V pure sine wave inverter. The ecoflow will charge at ~1800 watts from a 110 line. I like the idea of using the marker lights as floods. I'm not sure if they're required for all use or just commercial though. 4WD would be fun to build. I would think Dana 60 with no locker should be plenty for what you're talking about trail wise. I might worry the winch wouldn't be enough for something as big as a bus. But same logic. Should be enough if you're not trying to rock crawl a bus. They make pretty decent 5x7 drop in LED conversions. Just avoid the cheap ebay/amazon stuff. I never know what youtube videos I put up will do well. For a long time only the ones that said "SUBARU" did good. But now? I've had some winners. I just put out there whatever I'm doing and not really trying to get more of a following (although it still seems to be happening) I just bought a 1 ton '07 GMC classic as work has out grown the '06 Suburban. But now I can have the burbs down for repairs/Dana 44 swap and it not matter much.
Thanks for the feedback
Have you found a transfer case for this yet?
I haven’t. I’ve browsed marketplace just to keep an eye out
I have one that may work for you. Come take a look at it sometime.
Nice job man!
Thanks!
I was wondering where you got to!! Really enjoyed all the lives while you were rebuilding the transmission.
Thanks old man. It’s hard to make content just to make it. And I really don’t won’t to turn my channel into a mechanic channel but things have to be worked on.
Short bus!
Shhhhhhh not yet!
Love It!
thanks I've been practicing on clip transitions without a fancy editor.
Very nice park! Boulders are cool. I'll be in Missouri next month!
I will just be getting back from SD when you’re there. I won’t be going to MOORE bet may be able to run around.
Great job tackling that rebuild. Thats is a lot of work.
Thanks Larry. I still have to find the correct preload shim that goes behind the pump, it has zero endplay at the moment. It t came with a .104” shim I sanded and fit that thing for 4 hours and only have it down to .082”. I decided to order shims LOL.
I also hope to shorten the live streams and make videos from them
