Hi,
This started as an owner's video channel and has evolved into a podcast and UA-cam channel.
I've been driving EVs since 2015 - and share - hopefully a lot of useful and informative content.
It's content without anything that is here just to feed the algorithm. Pure information.
Enjoy!

Everything Electric South 2024
How is the future of electric vehicles shaping up, and what groundbreaking innovations are emerging to power the next generation of sustainable transport? In this episode, Take It EV join forces with Gary Comerford from EV Musings, Simon Rowe (The EV Side), and Rob Shaw (RSThinks) at the Everything Electric in Farnborough. Together, we explore the latest advancements in electric vehicles, from ultra-rapid charging solutions to exciting new cars hitting the market.
We kick things off with a look at AW Renewables' game-changing Kempower Charging system, powered by a wind turbine, offering ultra-rapid charging at an incredible rate. Then, we dive into our test drives, including the MG Cyberster, the first two-seat convertible electric car, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5N, which offers a thrilling driving experience. We compare these cars’ performances and discuss how EV acceleration is changing the way we experience driving.
Beyond cars, we talk about the growing push to debunk EV myths through the Electric Vehicles UK initiative, and how content creators are stepping up to inform the public. We also explore eco-friendly home solutions like battery boilers and solar panels, highlighting the broader movement towards green energy.

Great episode and thanks again for having me :)
If you look on Cinch they have loads of ID3s which show the battery percentage on their binnacles. Many with above 50%.
Kids toy ahh sound
Great episode, Kevin os a great communicator
Great episode 👌
thanks Lewis!
Wish I'd have managed to go, would have been lots of fun
The way to manage the dealers is to say you're getting it as a company car but can you test drive. You get the keys but none of the spiel.
pssst ;p
I'll have to listen to the full episode now! Great teaser.
Hi Greg, enjoyed the episode Thanks for sharing Lewis
Thanks 👍
Thank you. Just bought a used leaf and thought I was going mad. I’m really tall so there was no way I’d see it.
Than you
I'll make sure to look them up and find a local one. My service plan is up and my Hyundai garage is a bit of a pain in general.
Very quick of the mark 👍
Great guest Greg, well done 👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for listening!
@@takeitev I disagreed about the vehicle to grid thing though. If my Kona did v2h it would decarbonise my evening peak electricity, then use the cleaner stuff overnight to top up. I only use 8kwh a day for the house on avg. PM might be 2kwh for dinner or whatever. Car could do that for 32 days. If it stops a gas peaker plant being needed I'm in.
Unfortunately these do not comply with the current regulations in Great Britain and cannot be sold.
Very cool Greg ! It really needs some back end software for who used what electricity for the RFID card functions. I thought that would be the whole point of the RFID cards! I thought the NIRO 4+ had 11kw 3phase, all but the cheapest Konas do. How odd. I couldn't be bothered getting a 3 phase meter though, i do have a 3 phase connection, but the neighbour is on a looped L2 i think. Didn't seem much point paying for a 3 phase meter just to fill the car up more quickly.
On their website the price is listed as $499.00 + Shipping Charge.
Thanks. That’s literally been updated as I was releasing the video - I think. The manufacturer never told me what the price will be .
Welcome back Hope you can enjoy the house now Looking at doing my own retrofit this year, may involve a new roof, walk insulation, floor insulation and heat pump if I'm lucky.
That's a lot of work. Do it in stages. Roof sounds like a big undertake! Good luck!
@@takeitev if I can get my heat loss down from 12k to 5k makes a heat pump a lot easier to fit and less internal disruption with pipes etc
What a brilliant interview. Fascinating and terrifying in equal measure.
Your camera says no more recording XD
well done Greg - very pleased for you :)
Great episode!
Thank you Gill!
Great interview. Did Quentin tell you the off air story about Clarkson and Elon Musk lawyers?
gentleman doesn't say 🤐
It would help if Clarkson would do the same and tell people about how good EVs are these days.
Knowing how passionate Quentin is & how powerful his opinion is I would like to see put pressure on car makers to make Electric cars AFFORDABLE to the normal man in the street so that we can embrace change realistically.
This is certainly something we are all hoping will happen. It's down to OEMs
Shame these aren’t on the new leaf.
I want the first generation leaf so bad. The original mass-market electric car.
I wish they kept it on the new ones
@@mariettadashcam6857 Yeah!!! It was super cool.
Nathan always sound so sensible, hopefully the people making the big decisions are listening to him
excellent stuff
Really insightful episode! Love the new video format as well, although I do love listening to most of it via podcast in the car ☺️ I am currently living in New Zealand (started an EV charging company here called Hikotron) so it's a great way to stay in touch with what is going on in the UK as NZ is a few years behind in the EV space so it is like looking into a crystal ball of what issues we will face here. Keep up the good work Greg 👌
Great chat, thought provoking, there was a lot of great content. Well done
Listened to the audio only podcast, but not sure how to like or comment using the Apple podcast app so came here. Great episode, really enjoyed. Sounded Like you both enjoyed it.
Kind words, thank you !
Also, just leave a review on apple’s podcast website or such.
Another great episode Gregg - love the conversation drifting into other subjects - felt like friends chatting all things EV 👏🏼
Thank you! That’s very kind !
Borrowing My Moms car and thought I was going insane😂😂 thank u so much
nice! glad to be of assistance
This company is a massive boost to the EV transition. Let's hope their chargers get rolled out right across the UK as they seem miles ahead of other charging providers.
couldn't agree more!
Mumbler.
Hi mumbler, I’m Gregg
When SoC hits 10% or less, it shows in the smaller binnacle. You’d think VW could update the software for it to be visible all the time.
Lots of ID3s on Cinch show their battery percentage on their binnacles when above 50%
And the other one sound nice
Ikr
I'd ecstatic to have this car and this guy looks like he just bought a pair of socks...WTF?
Thanks for the review wich color has the car? Is it galaxy grey?
looks like it was galaxy grey.
Sorry but someone needs to learn how to drive an EV. My long term since new is 4 over 2500 miles with air con on and without even trying. Seriously misleading people . Wow a video how to get SoC on an ID3. What’s next a video how to get the time?
next video is going to be an exit interview with your mum
Looking forward to a test drive in one soon. It's a little wider than similar sized EV's - I'm keen to find out if that's any bother, or a non-issue, parking etc.
What colour is this
White I think , dunno what it’s called :-)
Its sad that every tester shows only the basic versions...aren´t there any with the highest packages? I will get mine tomorrow with the highest equipment line and it looks much better in the interior.
That’s what I got my hands on and had to pay to rent so.. chip in and I’ll review different model
Nice to see the size of it next to e-Niro
thanks. I got a lot of questions about it prior to test drive. So I thought I better feature that comparison!
@@takeitev You did exactly what i would have done.Would have been nice if my test drive had happened last week instead of me doing a 24 mile round trip to Johnsons Hyundai Sutton Coldfield to find they had given it to a fleet buyer for a week.I did complain to Hyundai they took details and have done nothing.Crappy customer service.
I'm so glad you like it. I can't wait to get mine!
"Green with Envy" doesn't even cover it 😆 Looking forward to your videos on it.
The chimes are only there to cover up the sound of all the big relays kicking in on start up
oh really
Ha! I hear the relays long before the chimes play.
Question; Chris mentions that some conversions for vehicles manufactured after 2002 may still result in car tax following the EV conversion ... Can someone confirm it this is the case of not?
