Love it, them Atherstone youths are nutters lark! Spent a lot of time in the town during the 80s and early 90s, playing in a band wi' 2 local lads at The New Dolphin, Roaring 20s out the back of The Red Lion, Hat & Beaver, Barry's wine bar on Long Street, Golf Club etc. And then on to the Star Tandoori (or even Wongy's). Great days, and ta for making the film. Dunt teck on, yuth!

Made such a change from the few minutes of violent aggressive scenes we usually get to see on the shorter UA-cam videos following the game. Interestingly, it used to be called Hat 🎩 Town due to the millenary trade, even making hats for the then Princess of Wales, Diana. XX
@@yvonnemaryastill4399 I never knew that. Well I did know about it being a hatting town (bought a few myself before they entirely closed down) and also for shoes. The only other name I knew it used to be called though was “Adderstone” if in fact that’s true?
@@cazzajee2593 think that derives from the Atherstone Football Club known as the ‘Adders’. I used to buy my slippers from the factory where they were made in Atherstone too! Beautiful sheepskin ones. Can’t remember now the name of the factory, tho. They made them for M&S. XX

The Ball Game was only cancelled once in its entire history, due to COVID, in 2021. Atherstone people are the salt of the earth. XX
