JMO, but for IN-ground pools that are rectangular, or at least approximately rectangular, in shape, "eyeball" jet returns are CRAP. It is impossible to get a true, "circular" ("vortex") water motion in the pool with eyeballs. IMO, eyeballs should be restricted to spas and above-ground, or ROUND-shaped pools. They are fine in those applications. The best covers to use for rectangular IN-ground pools' return jets are: SLOT-Type return jets. After installing, aim them slightly downward (5 to 10 degrees or so). Those are the "old school" type, that push the water *PARALLEL to the wall of the pool* and create a strong, circular current ("vortex") around the perimeter of the pool. Meanwhile, in the middle of the pool, the water is constantly stirred and "roiled", mixing chemicals more efficiently, mixing warm and cooler water, and most importantly, MAKING THE SKIMMER WORK AT MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY. The Chlorine floater tells you how the water is moving-----What you want to see is the floater going around and around the perimeter of the pool, seldom if ever stalling, and often moving right down along the pools edge. "Eyeball" returns DO NOT ACCOMPLISH THIS in a rectangular, INground pool. I have witnessed this and seen it in action with my own eyes, in my own pool, after a re-plastering. It is unequivocal and empirical. SLOT-type return jet covers are still available at some pool supply companies (plus Amazon). They are cheap. They WORK. How does this work for your expansion states? We’re in SC. Are they franchises? Sub contracted etc?

With that roll up hose. If your filter has not completely drained them Dr is just getting pushed back up to filter nest. Would be best to switch to corrugated hose or any hose that wont collapse making it harder to drain your filter all with gravity

Why is it leaking tho

My eyeball moves around too freely. How do I get this thing to tighten down so I can set it and it won't move?

Do I need to loosen the ring in order to adjust the eyeball direction? My dont seem to budge. Thanks

When jets are pointed too high they bubble and ripple the surface which makes it hard to see when vacuuming. Another pool channel stated it artificially raises the pH level by mixing in air. It might also increase evaporation.
