This message couldn't be more true. God has taken a very troubling situation with my son struggling with his own sexuality to finally force me into a place of submission to Christ. I have felt so powerless in this situation but it's this very feeling that has forced me to be more desperate for God...more so than I have been in years. I've finally made prayer and the word or God a daily priority our of my new found need for God. I feel so broken watching my son go through such an identity crisis that it's this brokenness and helplessness that had made me more desperate and intentional in my faith. It's just been a few weeks of making prayer and reading scripture daily a habit but already God had shown me that he us faithful. I've felt his peace more and more and I've begun to see huge positive changes in my younger two children. I've seen and increase in their hunger for God. Just today while at my oldest sons volleyball tournament we lost my car key and my youngest folda his hands together and prays for us to find the key. He's only 6 years old and this might seem insignificant but it was huge to see him praying like this. It just showed me God faithfulness when we seek to put God first in our lives. The overflow onto out children is tangible. Thank you lord! During such a trying time with my oldest son it was like a hug from my heavenly father to see my youngest turning to God for help. 🥰

I'm so glad to meet you virtually Katarina, what an amazing post. Simple, very practical with several easily identifiable examples everyone can identify with. You expressed your heart very clearly with a practical modern look at a simple teaching 'live' in action with our Lord. You did an amazing job at painting the scene for Jesus that very day. He had to have been on the edge of an all out stampede by wounded folks not willing to be denied. Whew, I can 'feel' the pressure He must have been under choosing between helping the desperate or running out of gas short of the finish line. I'm parched for honest conversations about the simple wonders God has provided us, they are so simple folks miss them thinking them inconsequential. It's the simple within the 'whole' that makes it incomprehensible. Might I add to this precious conversation? If we were sitting next to each other on a plane and happened upon this conversation, I would add to the wonderful truths you have described with this, and await your reply. Sorry doctors, lawyers, politicians, prison for profiteers, and parking lot design architects, you would need to seek other employment. That alone should show them God exists. 2. Need does not precede calling to action, calling to precedes ANY action 3. Ministry and love towards 'yourself' is your #1 priority 4. Your life does not consist of the sum of your suffering, Jesus was demonstrating two things at the same time. a) He was God, and b) we can do it as well 5. What were the dividends from such an investment in 'Himself' and why would He need it? 6. They got in a boat to escape alright. Fast boys, ROW faster! Nothing like having fishermen saving you at sea. That mission is planned alone in solitude between you and God. The mission IS YOU! 13. Calling 'precedes' action, but it is never, may I repeat? NEVER about the 'WHAT', it is about the 'WHO' that shows up on time following the daily bread our Lord promises to provide us on our journeys 14. Life 'resides' in the 'present'. Right here, right now as I am writing this and you are reading it 15. Nothing to do about the past but learn from it, God is in the redeeming business and He likes a good challenge 16. You don't know your tomorrows, but God does simply because our future resides in God's past 17. Refer to #14, the only place you can meet with God is in your present 18. Each day is a heavenly treasure hunt. Lots of things that LOOK like treasure, flashing lights and marquees and all. Each day is different and you will only find that day's treasure if you paid attention to yesterday's, and all you can remember of your entire life 19. You stay on that level until you find it, each level gets more difficult and the things being rooted out and burned off are deep and painful 20. Once learned and your treasure (lesson) found, on to the next. Higher levels, higher devils. 21. IF, you but force your will to fulfill your 'mission', you will miss it every time. The INSTANT you force your will, no matter your certainty, you go off path. The time it takes to find your trail again is the time it takes to learn what you need to go forward. 22. Rest, be patient, follow your treasures and you will wake up one day to notice you have arrived. Abraham picked up stakes and left his home country for a land whose city is made in heaven. Hebrews says he sojourned and never found it, "but he knew what he was looking for". 23. That's it, He will show you what you're looking for.
