How I Overcame My Fear of Writing Forever (4 Tips)

The fear of writing, known as graphophobia, is a REAL thing that lives within many of us. I would be so bold to claim that we have all had it at one point in our lives...some more severe than other. I've always admired great writers. Great speaks. Great thinkers. Not just novelist & career writers, but everyday people who wrote on the internet for fun. BUT the Fear of Writing planted deep withi...
How I Became a Book Nerd in 2024 Using This Free Reading System (40 books and counting)

I used to HATE reading because the physical act of reading books reminded too much of my high school and college days. You know, sitting down with those big, unnecessarily wordy and clunky books and like clockwork, within a few minutes my eyes would start to water and my neck would start hurting from trying to maintain a posture only fit for reading physical books. Now, as I've had some time aw...

    Good morning. You're not living alone, you're living with your little family. I am severe allergic. I'm allergic to all kind of things, like dust mites, fruits, grains, nuts, tree pollen... but the worst of it all is: I am allergic to animals. Can't even be near pet owners, can't visit family, friends or neighbours, & when they visit me, i need one of my big loud air purifiers. I don't complain. My allergies teach me a lot awareness & self awareness. It's a strange way of living, constantly avoiding allergens. But i have succeeded so far. I've built a very nice, fullfilling & most of all a very healthy life. Without allergens i am healthy like a horse. I love sports, especially martial arts & walking & hiking. I love my 30-40mins a day, outsides or during birch saison inside on my walking pad in the meta world. I am happily married for 8yrs now. He is the love of my life. Love your channel, love your focus on life. Greetings to you & Emmy & Moonshine.

    Been reselling as my main income since 2001! This is great advice!!! Slow and steady wins the race. Just because someone has a big volume ebay store does not mean they are profitable. Good luck! Reselling has changed so much that it’s getting harder and harder to rely on it. I would suggest to have a job with a steady income stream and resell (with caution) for a little extra money. So many youtube resellers make it seem like you will be rolling in the cash….far from it!

    So i'm literally at the beginning of my jeans reselling journey. Im in the UK, i've bought Levis and Wranglers jeans and im trying to achieve a profit margin of 10£ per pair. The problem with this is, i'm not sure if it's worth trying to reduce my prices to achieve less profit per sale, but if this would actually achieve more profit/revenue overall through increasing the number of sales. Currently my cost of goods for wranglers is less than £5 per pair, and im trying to sell them for £18 per pair. At the minute, I have the time to do more work, i have the capacity to deal with a larger volume of sales. I dont have the data available to me to determine if selling at a significantly reduced price will get me more profit overall. What do you think I should do? Thanks

    • @JonnieWang
      @JonnieWang 2 місяці тому

      So I used a basic spreadsheet to track my goods and supply costs (jeans, supplies) and then now, eBay has a printable csv report where it lays out your items sold price, fees, shipping, returned etc. A lot easier now imo. It’s also exportable to an excel document!

    All great info Thanks Jonnie! Unfortunately all the cool Kindle ecosystem does not work in Canada 😭 But at least our Libraries do usually connect to Libby and Hoopla! So audiobooks on long walks it is! 😁 The reason our Libraries do not connect to Kindle is that Koobo (owned by Indigo Books and a direct competitor to Amazon selling books) has an exclusive rights with all the Libraries in Canada... So you'd have to own a Koobo for renting books from a library 😭

      @@JonnieWang Precisely. I'm kind of skeptical about making sentences short. I read somewhere that making sentences longer makes whatever one is saying more engaging and I saw no reason to doubt it. The one person that came to my mind while reading that was Dostoevsky. I guess that's one of the reasons that made his books great and engaging. They require a lot of mental effort, but definetly engaging. What do you think of this?

      Reading, by definition, is to absorb stories and ideas from written texts. Visually deciphering text is just one way of reading. Visually impaired people read by feeling braille. No matter how you choose to do it, reading facilitates comprehension, critical thinking, and vocabulary development-all of which can be achieved through audiobooks. Therefore, audiobooks facilitate reading.

    Book nerds aren’t gatekeeping not everyone knows about things like Libby, Overdrive, Hoopla and other library sites. Like any other shop, Amazon have daily deals on books some 99p/99c. If you buy the Kindle book, quite often you can get the audiobook at a drastically reduced price. Audible themselves rotate deals. 2 for 1/2.99/ as well as weekly deals. Obviously this is to those people that don’t mind supporting Amazon. I’m sure Kobo also has deals. The other point I wanted to make was Amazon have made the Kindle so easy and user friendly that a lot of people don’t spend time looking in the settings and learn what you can do besides just reading books. A lot of the ‘hidden tips and tricks’ videos for Kindles are just telling you the things that you can learn for yourself by looking in the settings.

    Kindles are great, but ... they are seriously limited in their sources. The best option is actually one where it's an android ecosystem which means not just kindle and lobby apps. You will have the option for Google books, Everand, kobo, Project Gutenberg, and many other sources. It becomes a game changer.

    If you haven’t finished a Libby book by the time it expires, you can turn your kindle on airplane mode and it can’t be “taken back” until you reconnect. Fair warning though, if you use good reads and care about your daily “streaks”, you’ll lose your streak even though you’re reading because it can’t gather the data on airplane mode.
