Robert, thank you very much for your video. What is the dome of your 1971 Hauser guitar? 3mm? Have a good day. Didier
@@luthmanluthman No where near 3mm’s. Closer to 2mm’s. No more than 2mm’s.
That smile . . . The little guy just exudes happiness. His little eyes and that look of sheer wonder . . . Ya gotta love it. Keep makin' those precious and priceless memories!!!! I still believe the music that emanates from carousels is the best part. I don't think all the smiles and wholesome emotions would be a fraction of what they are of it weren't for the music.
@RobertBDesmond, first, In sorry about the length of this, but I wanted to include the important stuff. I just wanted to say thank you, sincerely, for making and sharing this video. I don't know why UA-cam suggested this video in my feed, but there it was and I was intrigued by the title and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Your history as a professional marketing photographer for Disney is beyond impressive, as well as your background for woodworking and your history as a musician. And the fact that your biological father was also a musician and woodworker . . . Clearly you got your talents honest, and you've since perfected them in ways that have touched other's in countless positive ways. I used to play guitar, but the last 6 years have brought 15 heart attacks and 3 full cardiac arrests. I haven't been able to work as a direct result and altogether for disability is unfortunately often a years long process. There's good news, though, and that's thus: After not being able to properly use my hands or fingers for the last 7 years (severe neck issues after 32+ years as a volunteer paramedic and volunteer firefighter), I had neck surgery two months ago which restored the function to my hands and fingers. (Thank you, Lord Jesus!) Being out of work, I was forced to sell my guitar that I'd since high school (I'm 55 now) or face eviction. Praying before that neck surgery, I was crying, and promising Jesus that if the neck surgery was successful, I'd never again waste the talent that He gave me and Is once again purchase and play the guitar. When I woke up on the recovery room, and could use my hands and feel my fingers for the first time on 7 years, I could only cry at tears of joy and thank Him countless times. I learned during the three cardiac arrests that Heaven is indeed real, and was blessed to hear the beyond beautiful music there even though it was only for brief times (2+ minutes, 3+ minutes, and 4+ minutes respectfully). Now it's my turn to live up to Mt end of the deal, and purchase a guitar like In promised Him I would, so that I can share the true beauty of the instrument with others. I know realistically it probably won't happen for years, because life has gotten beyond difficult financially, but at least it's a goal. And to me, for far too many reasons to list, the guitar is the most magical instrument on the planet. It's also helped to save my life when nightmares and flashbacks from too many EMS and fire calls had me ready to take my own life, but that's a while other story. At any rate, thank you again for making and sharing this video. You have helped further inspire me to not only one again hopefully purchase a guitar, but to also try my hand at building one. I've also subscribed to your channel, and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Be well, stay safe, may God bless you and your family, and Merry Christmas. Randy
Thank you for that nice video. What is the thickness of the saddle? Thank you.
@@luthmanluthman Thanks. The Hauser saddle is 3/32” thick. It is not a compensated saddle. I prefer a thicker saddle, 1/8”. Happy building!
Thank you very much Robert
After I made this video the thought occurred to me that the silver pins may actually be pure silver rod or nickel silver, neither of which is magnetic. They could be Jeweler’s silver rod or fret silver, which is nickel silver. Whatever the metal is, it’s non-magnetic. Are these sound transmitting rods from the bone saddle to the soundboard? Any and all thoughts welcome.
Definitely very interesting, indeed.
Yeah, avoid this company at all costs! Their motos are terrible. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
I had the same problems with this company. I went through 3 motors from them and all three motors FAILED. Ended up buying a new motor from a HVAC parts dealer. I returned all three to them and I still have not received a refund yet. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! RIP OFF!
United HVAC is a terrible company.
Lennox yeah companies like these don't sell their parts unless you are certified. It seems all big companies are doing it. Interesting video. Thanks
I have a suggestion: After you get it in to may put a drop of water, this way the wood would swell a little and make a very strong tight fit.
Basically these are made out of plastic, can you please share the prices of those tuners? Also how do you screw in the Pegheads, you really have nothing to grip? What size reamer do you use?
Shout out to my brothers at UR
Do not buy a rebuilt motor from united motor supply. I bought one and it failed in 2 months. They sent out another one and it failed less than 2 years. They now say it’s not covered as the original one was ordered more than 2 years ago. It was by 11 days. Save yourself and buy new rather than buying rebuilt from this outfit. They have an F rating from BBB.
@@georgelinngren4418 I agree 100%. This company is terrible. I also had 2 ECM motors from them. One worked for 3 hours and the other worked for 3 days. I returned them both, in person. I hired my AC company, Rinaldi’s in Orlando, and they just put in a brand new ECM motor, OEM, from Lennox. It cost me $1,500.00, but it works great and Rinaldi’s is a great company to deal with. United HVAC is a terrible company to deal with, and their motors did not work for me.
ECM motor is a control head with three phase wound motor. The control head takes single phase and converts it to three phase and has 24vac inputs on the second connector to set speed. I have a ecm motor on my air handler and it’s been running continuously for 20 + years.
Electronically commutative motor
Error code 201 means there's trouble with your furnace's blower motor. Man... you've probably got something else going on. To have your initial failure and then two failed replacements. The board up above where the blower is connected... it supplies power and controls it. You might have a short that is screwing things up.
Absolutely ridiculous you cannot get parts! What is this communism? I hate all this new complicated h/w on ACs since they claim all sorts of ‘savings’ but just one service visit can wipe out any savings. I’ll keep my simple r134a contactor capacitor one speed simple system as long as it will last. New stuff is crap
ECM Electronic Control Module. Good on you for doing this yourself. It is insane the costs for having this work done now days when it's rather a simple task.
Posizione stupenda
Che damigelle mal messe!
This is so beautiful and prayers for your life journey. It was a plus with the ship in the background, so beautiful.😊

Nice Bob… you’re back in Utah! Lucky… so beautiful there!
Hi Tom! Yes, we were there in Moab for 3 days. As you know, I love Delicate Arch. I hiked up there 4 times, twice to the arch itself and twice to the cliff opposite the arch to shoot photos. We also hiked the Bright Angel trail twice at the South Rim Grand Canyon, sort of testing our abilities for a future rim to rim hike. Not sure we can do it, 25 miles, but it’s on our bucket list. We also went to Durango Colorado for 2 nights and rode the train to Silverton . We hit Petrified Forest National Park too. We had a safe trip and got home Monday night of this week. The Travato performed flawlessly, 5000 miles. I miss seeing your travel videos! I’m hoping you will be on the road again soon. We really enjoyed your videos. I hope all is well with you guys. We have Teddy, our grand dog for this coming week while our daughter and her husband go on Icon of the Seas cruise out of Miami. Teddy is a Golden Doodle, 11 years old. He’s a big part of our family.

Beautiful tone woods Beautiful craftsmanship Beautiful playing Beautiful expression Bravo!
Thank you!
Very nice! What are your thoughts on redwood vs. spruce and cedar for a flamenco guitar?
Redwood is somewhere between spruce and cedar. I’d say it’s closer to spruce than it is to cedar in density and stiffness. The set I used for this guitar was extraordinary! It was from a special tree harvested about 25 years ago. I bought it from the estate of the late guitar maker Jim Norris. I bought only 2 sets of it, and I gave one set away to a guitar maker friend of mine. So, this is the one and only set I had in my stockpile. It’s perhaps the most beautiful top set I have ever built with in my 31 years of making classical guitars. It’s a bit tricky to work with as it tends to chip when routing the edges for bindings and purflings. Im quite happy with the guitar, after a few months when the sound opened up a bit. Thanks again. Bob
I agree with Mr. D’s description. I’ve made three with redwood, two curly and one sinker. The sinker looks and sounds closer to cedar but the two curly closer to spruce. I found it more difficult to work with than cedar and spruce as it’s a bit brittle, so care is needed when going at it with chisels and planes.
Beautiful playing and wonderful sounding guitar!
❤
Fantastic and moving playing! Beautiful sound and instrument! 👍👏👏👏
Thank you from Jane and me!
A Lovely maestro, with a very sweeet smile. Thank you mamy, from Morocco.
Lovely! So delicate a touch!
Your smile was the best part

Thank you for posting. You’re a joy to listen to and I think you must get the same joy from playing. ❤
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!
