Awesome room, the journey from start to now was great. Congrats
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you for watching!
Buddy why measurements are Only until 250hz and not for all the speaker until 20000khz why this happening and how im gonna do it to measure all the speaker???
Hi, should you level match your speakers once complete or leave settings as is
@@eman-Eagles I would leave all settings out of A1 EVO as is.
Thanks for this. Good to hear an opinion from someone who is not trying to sell me something. I have been in the market for a AVR to upgrade from an 8 year old Yamaha. My research narrowed the selection down to the 3 that you mentioned here: the Cinema 50, Denon RX3800, and the Onkyo RX 3800. Think I am going to go with the Denon. Just waiting for a sale.
Thank you for watching! If I had to buy a receiver again I would also go for the Denon. I did like that the Marantz unit I bought came with a 5 year warranty. I do agree with and also don’t like content creators pushing for overpriced gear. It should always be honest. I’m reviewing a universal control I was sent and if it’s good I’ll recommend and if it’s not I’ll be honest.
Sorry that happened with the mold. But I've noticed things like this too. If you really look around and are honest with yourself, America is becoming a third world country in many respects. Things that used to set this country apart, especially regarding top notch entertainment venues, are going by the wayside.
I agree!
I’m locked at 120”. My projector can easily push a larger screen but 120 is literally as large as I can go and still have a sliver of space for speakers (along with giant acoustic panels since my fronts are right along the wall). I could in theory get to 140 if I went acoustically transparent and built a space but I’m not quite ready to do that yet.
How far are you sitting from your screen?
Thanks! Comment to support. What’s your experience with the different target curves? Looks like “MJ” is the current one now??
Thank you! I’m on the MJ script. I’ve tried most curves and ended up with Harman 6db. Anything below that just did not have enough punch for me. Thank you for watching!
Hum is usually caused by ground loop in a component in the system, the outlet things are plugged into, or cables in the system causing feedback. One reason that I have seen is cables from the internet modem causing feedback. I recommend using XLR cables or RCA cables that are made with microphone wire like Mogami 2534 or Carane L-4E6S. I use these RCA cables in my system and there is no hum. The sound is transparent and wide. I use my Arcam AVR 11 strictly as a processor and I am running those RCA cables to my 2 amps. I also recommend using an XLR for the sub connection and getting an RCA to XLR adaptor to connect the XLR to the RCA sub out to the receiver. Great vid.
Great feedback! I will look into the cables you are recommending. Thank you!
Great video! Thanks for the step by step guide to downloading and running the script.
Glad it was helpful!

If Audyssey lists speakers as large, do we still plug that into the a1evo script or do we change it to small?
Leave the audyssey calibration as is. EVO will take care of the rest.
Have you compared One Evo to Dirac Live?
@@arielrodriguez6980 I have not. You can probably get good comparisons from the Facebook group from users that have access to both softwares.
What is the order. First calibrate and then use the audyssey app and then load the evo to the avr?
@@arielrodriguez6980 audyssey app calibration, export to computer to run EVO, EVO will generate new file for you to use, you will export from your computer to your phone and then import to your app. From your app you will be able to send to your AVR. 👍🏼
@@KevisFilms I see. I've used XT32 but never with the app. Having said this, do I calibrate the avr with the app initially with the mic or no app? I may get the x4800 model.
@@arielrodriguez6980 once you download the app, it would force you to recalibrate via the app. It will ask you to plug in the mic and run you through the prompts. Let me know if this helps.
doesnt work on sony recievers
It would need to be an audyssey capable receiver like a Denon or Marantz. I believe Sony had their own proprietary calibration software.
Kevis those prices should include popcorn ,a drink AND an immaculately clean theater . i haven't been to the movie theater in 30 years . i wait for the DVD and enjoy it in complete quiet and cleanliness l plus i own it and can watch again and again for free.
Agreed! Thank you for watching!
Looks good 👍
Thanks 👍
For whatever reason, REW won't allow me to load more than SLA5 for measurement files. I drag all my files over and drop them onto the UI, it begins loading them, then it gives me a "No free positions" prompt and says I can either save them and lose C0, delete it, or cancel and not load all the files from that point on (e.g. SLA6 and beyond). How do I get it to allow loading all of my measurement files? What am I doing wrong?
Are you using the latest REW beta? Can uninstall and reinstall REW and try again? I’ll see if I can search on my end.
@@KevisFilms I tried installing a different version (no dice). Then reinstalled the latest beta (same). I guess I’ll try full uninstall > reinstall > reboot and see how it goes.
@@KevisFilms Finally figured it out after watching OCA's A1 EVO video. I missed the part where I needed to change the max number of measurements from 30 to 300. So it was limiting how many I could paste in. Thanks for the help!
@@dmccoyny awesome!!
Hello, work that with a 5.0 system and a stock microphone from Denon x2500h?
You will need a subwoofer. Thank you for watching.
it don´t works without a subwoofer
Correct 👍🏼
also in rew under eq tab, the bass management cutoff is defaulted to 80hz and lF cutoff is 10hz. i noticed OCA left it there, but you have it at 250 and 12, respectively. Does it matter?
I’ll have to check my settings. Pretty sure those were my defaults. Will let you know
Should we turn off midrange compensation in the multieq app after running the a1 evo script?
Once you upload your new file from Evo into the app, the midrange compensation will be automatically turned off. Is your showing the midrange turned on?
@@KevisFilms you're correct, midrange is off. i've seen in other vids that you want to adjust filter frequency range from 0-300 for speakers and then turn it off completely for the sub. right now my sub is set to 0-250hz, and speakers are from 0-20000hz. Leave these alone?
@@omark1781 I would leave the imported settings from EVO as they are. Enjoy the sound from there.
@@KevisFilms Loaded it up and it sounds really good. Dialogue seems crisper. One thing I noticed was that the crossovers were a little off. 60 hz for center, and 80 hz seems low given I have 4 beefy subs.
Mine are pretty similar. Are you using the latest and greatest EVO? The script determines best crossover based on in-room response. Glad it sounds well!
Man your original setup was almost identical to what I have now 😂. Sounds good to my not knowing any better ears. Polk T-series towers, bookshelf and center with Bose cubes as height speakers running off a Sony receiver.
Thank you for watching! What are some demos you enjoy watching in your theater? I still have my Polk center speaker in a small set up I have in the basement.
Beautiful Room Brother... I'm sure the movie watching experience is phenomenal
I appreciate your comment! Thank you!
Ready Player 1 is overrated
What’s your go to demo movie?
I'm really glad i had the pleasure to see Ready player one when it came out in theaters 6 years ago
I would have loved to seen this movie in a Dolby Cinema! Thank you for watching!
I am amazed they did this for you. Regal was like hahahah when I used to find things wrong and Cinemark is like well if no one else doesn't say anything were not gonna fix it so I just quit going then they both quit using screen masking and that was it for me 3 times the price and you only get what looks like a big blurry cell phone or old tv I dont think so with low sound no way.
I’m going back in a few weeks. Hopefully they have addressed all the issues! I really do want them to succeed. We shall see.
I have the MTM-212s for my front stage... I'm thinking about going with the M-210s for my surrounds and move the MT-110s as height/Atmos...I definitely like your setup...well done!
I love my MTM 210s. I bet the 212s sound fantastic!! Thanks for watching!
fun video, great setup!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you!
Not cool but really does depend what theater you go to.
Correct! Thank you for watching!
Nice!!
Thank you for watching!
What theater has a single seat costing $40 or $50 bucks???
After popcorn 🍿 and a drink 🥃. It adds up quick!
Hi from Japan, oh man mold on speakers!? That's really bad.. I would be scared to sit in those seats for 2 hours.. Looking forward to the updates!!
Thank you for watching! I had the employee wipe down my seat and tray when I got there. They don’t do a great job cleaning.
I thought this was going to be a review on the Alien Romulus abomination.....
Lol. Did you see it?
@@KevisFilms Yes and I wish I hadn't. If you are a big fan of the Alien franchise you are going to be severely disappointed. Add in the cost of the expensive popcorn and drinks and you are going to regret the ticket price even more. Thanks for the video !
Thank you for the heads up! I’ll probably rent it when it comes out. I need to go back and see the original again.
Went to see Long Legs a few weeks ago, and was reminded why I don't go to the movies anymore. The last several movies I have been to I have been completely underwhelmed by the sound and projection quality. I live in the St. Louis area and so many theaters have closed. We have been left with Marcus theaters that bought out Wehrenberg, one or two AMCs, and a few B&B theaters. The last two theaters I visited were AMC and Marcus. On both occasions the projection looked terrible. I could see every pixel and the brightness and contrast was terrible. The sound wasn't turned up loud enough and it was just an overall terrible experience. I would much rather sit in my basement and watch a movie on my JVC 4K projector and nice sound system. It's just a shame that the theater experience has come to this. I miss the days when film was projected.
💯
Great job Kevis you have improved the experience for all others who use that auditorium. Many would not even consider a refund or complaint.
Thank you!
How can you run 7.2.4 with the Cinema 50 without external amp?🤔😄
I have a small 2 channel amp for my rears. I should have said, I would not need any additional external amps to drive my front speakers.
Jurassic Park. Saw it at The Edward’s Big Newport in 93. It was one of the few theaters that had been upgraded to DTS and had the largest screen west of the Mississippi. When it came out on VHS my dad and brother had started to build a home theater and tried hard to replicate that audio experience. My mom didn’t like to see speakers in the house so when my parents would go out my brother and I would carry out our five home made giant speakers and two subs, plug them in and put Jurassic Park on even if we weren’t going to watch the full movie just to set our levels 😂. To this day that’s my favorite demo movie. Keep up the videos. I’m enjoying the channel!
Thank you for watching! I remember going to the movies and taking a sneak peak at the auditorium that was playing Jurassic Park (while I waited for my movie to start). It was the scene when the helicopter arrived to the island- the score was unbelievable!!! Good memories!
Twister, VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu Ray and 4k
Nice! I just got the 4K release! I was probably in my early teens when laserdiscs came out and I remember those being crazy expensive at the time.
Yes please do a follow up video. I may never go back to the theater after hearing your story. I like movies on blu r ay and 4k blu ray so much better.
Will do! Thank you for watching!
Hey Kevis, great informative video and channel. Keep up the great work 👍
Thank you! And thank you for watching!
Have thought about driving the Fronts trough a Marantz MM 7025 amplifier? I have the Cinema 50 also ,but the mains are now driven by the mm7025😊
My PSA speakers a very efficient. I bet they take less than 16 watts to get to reference (about 11’ from MLP). If they were further away and less efficient, I think I would definitely need an external amp to drive them.
I think there’s definitely too big. 50 degree viewing angle is optimal
Thank you for sharing and watching!
No is not. It depends on preferences
but they should have a team to check from time to time the condition of this Theater Chain so you don't have to be frustrated and contact the owner of this theater for complains
I agree!
almost something happened to me at my local theater when I went to watch Avatar 2 , the sound was awful , distorted , no bass , minimum surround and atmos effects and the picture was like a projector from the 80s , I never go since the lord of the rings to the movie cinemas but want to experience Avatar 2 in a big screen, bad IDEA .My Home Theater 11.4 speaker set up //Denon 3800H , 4k HDR laser Projector and 135 inches 16x9 screen look 10,000 better than most of my local Cinema Theaters
I feel like my home theater can only be beat by a Dolby cinema experience or IMAX. I’m tired of bad theater experiences.
Great video! It gives me some inspiration!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Wow I love homecinema. I got one at home and all that. Bit this next level of neediness. Just enjoy the movie.if not just walk out and demand your money back. It's just a movie. You gotta love first world problems.
It’s just a movie yeah and it’s just $30. You can either spend $30 to buy a ticket and snacks for one person or you can go do literally anything else. If they want our money they have to earn it.
Thank you for watching! The intent would be that the theater would fix the issue for all to enjoy and not just get my money back on the way out. It’s just principle. But you are right, at the end of the day it is still a first world problem.
I like the part “if they want our money, they will have to earn it!”
@@KevisFilmsit’s a first world problem yes but it’s in no way “needy” to expect value in return for your hard earned money.
Well, isn't it almost refreshing that a company actually seems to care about their customer experience. However, I'm very sceptical about them following through. Remember it's all about how much money flows to the TOP of the pyramid. About the mold and mildew on the speakers and other surfaces, I'm betting a box of donuts that it started with someones grubby hands leaving skin oils and possible food remnants. YUCK!
What gets me is that all of this would be easy to see for any of their employees. Why wait to get a complaint to fix an issue? We will find out in a couple of weeks if it was fixed. Thank you for watching!
@@KevisFilms Kevis, Quite simply the "suits" could care freakin' less about what concerns the average employee has about the facilities. Profit, profit, profit. Making the shareholders rich and lining their own pockets is the only goal of the "suits". You are right to be surprised to have received a response, let alone a positive response, from management. Our country is falling apart one citizen, one home, one small business and one community at a time. Sorry to be so negative, but look at the state of and the rate of decline in your area. Pride in a clean, well kept and safe community is gone. Seems everyone is only concerned with high profits or screen time or both. I think we are looking at Ready Player One or Elysium becoming reality soon. Hold on tight it's going to be one hell of a ride. All the very best, Kevin
That was some nasty looking mold. Looks like it was on the wall too. I'm curious to see if they actually follow through on fixing those issues. Looking forward to "part two"!
Thank you for watching! I’m looking forward to checking out auditorium 1 within the next month or so.
It would be interesting to hear about the mismatched speakers too..
I did not perceive a difference in timbre overall. My guess is that both brands would have similar compression drivers. It still bugs me that at some point they only switched out the left surrounds and not all of the surrounds in that auditorium.
You don’t need the same speaker all around you for it to sound good
@@KevisFilms,they are not timbre matching if they are two different brands . This does matter in the base layer and screen channels. Typically the base layer either side and back wall are 70v meaning only 4 channels in the base layer so affects usually occurs in one or two of those four channels at anytime, and if your immersion into the picture has already happened then not a big deal. But it’s a big deal by production standards. If the screen arrays are perfectly aligned and matched then your surround channels can have a different timbre as long as they are completely matching by model and brand. If it is an immersive auditorium by trademark then your system is met with specifications and corporate standards which means a branded system throughout.
Thank you for the informative post!
@@KevisFilms one time at regal they had miss matched Klipsch and JBL rear speakers the differences is you could not hear the Jbl speakes they were on tha back wall
