Really good point, it’s all part of the adventure. Have you been to the west side of Japan? Quite a few really cool hidden gems to be found along the coast 👍🏻

In this particular area, the walking paths are few and far between. I pulled the pin due to a dangerous S bend road around a cliff face. It’s a shame there aren’t more costal walking trails in this area, the views are fantastic in places.

I’ve never tried to buy a bike but I have found that you can find a bargain if you shop in the more rural areas or smaller cities. My wife is from Fukui, I drive her crazy with some of the bargains I find, I quickly fill our suitcase 😂

@@Stephen.Dawson No we met here in Brisbane :) . Kanazawa is lovely. Never been to Fukui but would love too. We live in Oz and are in the process of buying a house in Osaka. We plan to do two 90 day trips there a year and work in Au when Bris from 2026

@@Stephen.Dawson no, I just came back from south east Asia though. Had a great time. Japan seems a place you can only enjoy if you speak the language

@@king-manu2758 That’s so cool! Glad you enjoyed yourself 👍🏻. Language is a bit of a battle in Japan, but you find that the younger generation (30’s and younger) mostly have a basic grasp of English. From my experience, a mix of google translate and basic gestures always got me over the line. If you get chance, definitely consider visiting Japan, especially as their currency is quite weak at the moment 👍🏻 great bang for buck
