Major spoiler: I was one of the people who didn't guess the end of Omori and thought that we'd never truly know why Mari decided to commit suicide.. up until the big reveal. Flash forward to a few weeks later, playing through the game again and reaching Black Space. I heard the segment where Glade was playing, and my stomach began to churn.. the drag, thump thump thump. A body being dragged up the stairs. It was Sunny remembering himself slowly dragging his sister back up the stairs to their bedroom before Basil arrived and found him. The loneliness and desperation he must've felt. It hurt to even imagine.

The darkness is ever consuming. The life you have now feels empty. It feels as though it's repeating, even though you know it's not. It feels as though the system is breaking, like it's glitching. Nothing feels or seems right anymore. But your stuck living this life anyway. Sometimes it feels too peaceful, like life suddenly stopped being cruel. But it feels as though like it's the calm before the storm. Like something horrible is coming, and life is giving you a glimpse of peace before plunging you into darkness. As those peaceful days pass by, the eerily calmness of it starts to disturb you more and more. The lines of normalcy and strangeness start to fade. It's carving your own personality out, into a husk of what it was. And yet? You feel better. Like any terrible thing that could happen, will never happen. Who are you? Who are you really, other than a dead body that still moves and acts like it's alive? Who are you other than a zombie, a husk, trying to blend in to a human society? To try and bring back the past, to bring back your former self again? Why? You can't bring back something that's long gone, and gone forever. You crave the essence of being alive once again. To feel emotions. But you can't. You will never be who you once were ever again. Does that really matter though? Does it matter that you can't be who you were? Be yourself as you are now, because one day the spark inside you, that was once the sun that lit up your very life, will come back. Maybe it'll be different, maybe it won't be the same at all. But you wouldn't be dead anymore. You wouldn't just be some husk or zombie. You would be whole, a human. Full of emotions, thoughts, and a personality. You can feel again. What a dream. Something about Life, by yours truly.
