Some models by the Italian brand Ferrari get old very soon. And sometimes «becoming old» means also «becoming obsolete» and it is definitely the cosa of this model and many others. The real Ferrari driver has always been and for ever will be a wealthy person who can spare 280,000 GBP to buy a car and wants the best performance car available on the market at the time of his purchase. As soon as motoring technique evolves, he plans to buy the last model, and after the new one, until his age allows him to enjoy sport-driving. The F355 was launched lot of years ago, in 1994! Nowadays it's an old vehicle, not competitive any longer on the technical plane. It is not any longer a «status-symbol» and wouldn't be a good choice for salesmen and businessmen who need to grab attention. I presume it won't hold the price in future for innumerable reasons. It is not a good investment in my view. I think it is, like lots of other things, a piece appreciated only by nostalgic people.
Do you have a list of classic Ferraris before the F355 you can share that hasn’t held it’s price? Your assessment of a Ferrari owner is quite hilarious and I do hope that investments and finance isn’t your chosen career!

How does a V8 get that signature sound?
If You are used to american V8s, they have crossplane crankshaft - which has different firing order which cause the exhaust gases to be closer in the same manifold and with longer intervals thus resulting in a gurgle sound! As for Ferrari V8s, they use flatplane crankshaft - which alternates each firing in between cylinder banks thus maintaing a more symmetrical/smoother sound. They are also smaller and rev to higher RPM (making the sound higher pitched)!

What the yearly maintenance like? I wrench on many car models, including 80s-90s BMW and Mercedes. Think an average mechanic maintain one of these himself? I've seen 308, 328, and 348s in a price range I could possibly afford. But considering maintenance cost.
