I can definitely relate to what you said about the length of time you have been dealing with the VA "" UNSUCCESSFULLY "" I was Discharged from the marine corps in 1978 and I am still dealing with the VA today! The young man's anger and frustration is well received by me, I feel the same way, 1,000.00 %!! You mentioned how difficult it was to get information back in those days with the absence of the internet, which is very true but there was another factor more problematic in my opinion, which was the fact that WE THE VIETNAM WAR ERA, MILITARY, VETERAN COMMUNITY WERE HATED BY MANY IN THAT TIMES SOCIETY. I was called a baby killer, had many hang-ups on the phone and literally had the door to there office SLAMMED in my face!. I struggle with PTSD AND OCD , I need help, I struggle with life and I can't seem to get the VA to give a RAT'S A$$. I am dealing with all my issues on my own, I self medicate. I am alone there's no one in my life that understands me, I have stopped trying, I just keep to my self now.

Melanie, Singer Who Made a Solo Splash at Woodstock, Dies at 76 January 29, 2024 - Melanie, born Melanie Safka, was only 22 but already a presence on the New York folk scene when she appeared at Woodstock. She was one of only two women who performed unaccompanied at the festival (Joan Baez was the other) - and as a singer used to the snug confines of Greenwich Village coffee--AND she is the mother of daughter and singer Leilah Safka--whose "I Do, I Do" album is one of my most favorites, with every song being really great.
