Here for marcel🎉
Respect to the job you do, Daisy and I appreciate the efforts of your guest. This is the first video I watch on your podcast and it is packed well with to-the-point info💪🏼 And else, beautiful how Daisy let the guest speak. Very often the host just “avalanches” the guest barely allowing them to elaborate on the discussion topic.
02:55 we must mention that Actually the overwhelming majority of rejections occurs because the person who sees that resume first (the recruiter/recr analist/recr coordinator/talent/sourcer, etc.) cannot see you, the applicant in that role or the resume is somehow difficult to read or you are just of a nationality that the manager does not accept, etc, etc, etc. the list is truly infinte. So 1) it depends on the ability/quality of assessment of that recruiter, 2) on the (natural) discriminatory criteria of the expected “ideal candidate”, 3) certainly on the candidates content of experience. What all candidates might want to remember that once rejected, feed yourself the thought that It-mustvebeen-not-my-place-there, “mine, is waiting for me to find it”. Move on. Just move on. Your time is precious for you and only you✨🫂
That's very true. So many things to say that would not fit in an hour discussion. There are a lot of reasons why you might be rejected that have nothing to do with you or your skills, that are out of your control sometimes as you mentioned. A rejection does not define your value as a professional or a person. But I wholeheartdely agree. Apply and move on, especially if you do not hear back within 1-2 weeks assume you were rejected, trust that this place was not for you and move on to the next application / interview. Though what I stressed in my discussion with Daisy, it is easy to be optimistic while giving advice to other people, going through the process of continuesly being rejected is extremely stressful, especially if you are also under visa constraints to find a job asap (e.g orientation year visa in the Netherlands) and need a sponsor to be able to remain in the country. Thank you for the comment
@ 🙏🏼thank you for your efforts

Knowing about how brain works is like a a valuable knowledge and helps how to better navigate life & changes.
Watching this podcast, made me think of a friend that has ADHD and now I understand him much better than before. Am many things makes sense now. Thank you for this.
Just imagine people tend not to trust what they don't understand and cyberspace is hidden secret gem of civilization so by creating mistrust by competitor slowly they revert engineering the whole technology and even better
Watching this episode gave me a new insight about corporate world & it's like now I have a strategy on how to deal with this world!

HR Department is disgusting. They are only there to screw over employees.
Teddy is just amazing. I had the luxury and opportunity to be recruited by her 4 years ago. She knows how to guide a process like a champion.

love this podcast
And we love you! ❤
Haha wine and food during a podcast! Love it. Next time hot wings?
You’ll be the guest yeah? 😁😉
Super insightful!!

Interesting point! I hadn’t considered that unlimited leave polices could make employees almost feel guilty for taking more holidays than their colleagues 🧐 Great approach to combating this issue though!
My toxic boss pushed me to the point I spent 45 days at a psychiatric hospital. There were more than a dozen complaints against them and nothing was done. Two years later I was laid off and they were promoted.
Hi Julia, so sorry to hear what you went through. It’s extremely unfortunate when complains are not taken seriously. And a promotion? Talk about rewarding bad behaviour. What was the reason the complaints were overlooked, do you know? Sounds like you had a very bad experience. I hope you’re in a better place (work and health wise) than you were before ❤️
Correct, I quadrupled my salary through strategic job hopping.
Wow - that’s a big increase! How did it make you feel, that this was a way to achieve it? Congrats! 🙌🏼
Difficult to apply unless you come from a very lucky background to begin with. The fact that Sophie had assistance from her family from the get-go, as well as access to all of these opportunities, is what allowed her the freedom to try all these different things and eventually employ the help of a career coach. It's nice to be aspirational about one's career, I just wish that some of this advice was a bit more applicable to an average Joe.
Hi @Enzar17, thanks for the input, highly appreciated. We interview many guests with different backgrounds. If you’re looking for a complete change-around story, I highly recommend Twain Henry Lucas’ episode. Our host Daisy is also not very “lucky” when it comes to upbringing, and drop some stories during the chats. We will keep your feedback in mind for our future episodes.
Such an insightful conversation!
