Previewing DLSS 4 Adjacent Technologies (Cyberpunk 2077 Multi Frame Generation Nvidia Reflex 2)
Image quality analysis of RTX 5090 features and gameplay tests of multi frame gen in Cyberpunk 2077 using Lossless Scaling LSFG 2.3 X4 Frame Generation as well as a technology very similar to Nvidia Reflex 2 called asynchronous time warp, but for non-VR applications. I also briefly examined neural rendering techniques like Neural Materials and RTX Neural Faces in NVIDIA's Zorah Demo (which sounds suspiciously similar to Sora if you ask me lol). Overall I'm really excited for this tech and I'm only critical of Nvidia and the image quality and also their gatekeeping because I want to try it but hate consumerism and waste and believe in making what you have work for as long as possible so here's to my GTX 1080 Ti living in my PC for as long as possible! Eventually somehow somewhere in some capacity it will launch Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Maybe it's in a few years maybe it's really poorly, but it's gotta be able to work SOMEHOW.

Framerate Independent Mouse Movement via Reflex 2 Warp FRAME WARPING as well as framerate doubling. The combination of these technologies is the perfect mix for gaming. Comrade Stinger did something very cool when he made the demo in a short matter of time demonstrating that a technology like asynchronous time warp can fulfill the duty of Reflex 2.0 without the need for Ai or RTX by using traditional software techniques. This allows me basically to use Reflex 2 and DLSS 4 on my GTX 1080 Ti without RTX. These features make a huge difference when ray tracing even on a old high end GPU that doesn't support hardware ray tracing or machine learning acceleration. The combination really does work well. I'm hoping AMD or Intel will save us from NVIDIA gate keeping these features by over complicating them with Ai and trying to get people to buy new graphics cards. I mean, it's fair, but the open source community should resist! So here's my contribution for tonight. I want to hear more about AMD's RX 9070 like from Hardware Unboxed video and the DLSS 4 preview by Digital Foundry was really cool so you should definitely go check that out if you haven't seen it already. Same thing goes for 2kliksphilip and his asynchronous time warp video.

Investigating Software Accelerated Ray Tracing on my GTX 1060 6GB, which runs surprisingly well at 540p lol. This is a DX11 game but it still supports ray tracing in software by calling some Vulkan functions specifically just for ray tracing, while using DirectX 11 for the rest of rendering. CryEngine is so cool I'm looking forward to Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Can't enable DLSS unfortunately....

How long should a GPU released in 2017 be relevant for? What's the maximum amount of money you're willing to spend on a GPU? For me it's only like $300 and under

Would you say AMD and NVIDIA are using these softwares as a crutch to not innovate as much on physical hardware? Just not up to date on what's coming on the 5000 series and whether there have been any major improvements on the hardware side. Either way, the software seems to help people with older cards the most even though they technically only advertise it for RTX cards 😢
The new RTX 5000 Blackwell cards have some new hardware feature called "hardware flip metering" that handles how frames are presented to the display more precisely to improve frame pacing apparently, which I guess enable frame generation to work better. They're definitely better at Ai features and HFR gaming, but I would definitely say AMD and Nvidia are both using this tech as a crutch to make up for slowing hardware improvements. The part that I have a problem with is them adding Ai and RT to every possible aspect of rendering, pretending these features aren't possible without it just so they can pretend their old cards are somehow relics of the past when in fact they are some of the most popular GPUs in use. I used open source software to enable features like multi frame generation and "DLSS" via Lossless Scaling and XeSS in Cyberpunk to prove that these old GPUs benefit just as much from these modern features and it's anti-environmental and classist to pretend they're incapable of using them for some reason. It just takes motivation and will from the open source community, who has no profit incentive. Which is why I bought Lossless Scaling on Steam to support their excellent work!!
I'm gonna revisit this game with my GTX 1080 Ti with DLSS enabled by replacing it with XeSS or FSR 3.1. It works really well so let me know if you want to see a tutorial on that too.
How are u getting this to work without the direct x error?
I never got any kind of Direct X error in this game with frame gen I don't think. I am running the latest drivers (566.36) and I recently reinstalled the driver. I do have a lot of tweaks done to my PC like disabling multi-plane overlay with NVCleanInstall, so maybe that helps somehow or something? What's your GPU?
I was getting DirectX error everyday for weeks, I turned FSR on 3 days ago and i haven't seen a crash since. Im using a 5700 XT kinda old but its running seemingly flawless now. What card are you using ?

Salutations , Indiana Jones et The Great Circle ne se lance pas avec GTX et RX 5700XT justement parce que il n y pas de prise en charge software du RT ce que je déplore même une RTX 6 GO de Vram ne fonctionne pas correctement 8 GO étant le minimum et même une RX 6600 et 6600XT on des perf déplorable dans indiana , sur Avatar que j e vient d acheté ma RX 5700XT et mon 5800X3D en 3840X1080P en native ne donne pas une expérience fluide avec des drops de 30 a 42 FPS en bas détails mais une fois le FSR3 activé et la FG j ai une moyenne de 80 FPS avec un jeu fluide mais en bas détails et FSR sur équilibré avec FG , en FSR 3 sur Qualité et option sur moyen et élevé sans RT qui écroule les perf je bloque a 60 FPS avec Riva tuner mais toujours avec FSR3 et Génération d image activé
yeah performance is definitely much worse for me running at native 1440p without any FSR 3 upscaling. I noticed there is an interesting setting called something like "scaling mode" with options like "fixed, biased, and off" or something and the biased option (which was the default) defaults to upscaling the game to 4k before downscaling it back down to the monitors native resolution strangely. But it looks good. I wouldn't be surprised if you got much better performance switching from "biased" to "fixed." at least, that's what I noticed. The "biased" mode also effects the input resolution for FSR upscaling. That is, you're always upscaling to 4k so "performance" mode upscaling is actually running the game at 4k with performance upscaling (so from 1080p to 4k.) In this video I disabled "biased" in favor of "fixed" for better performance.
also yes I agree it's very frustrating not being able to play Indiana Jones at all. Even if performance was terrible or it didn't work correctly, I'd still like to be able to see for myself or even play at 540p if that's what it takes. I understand it also takes time to build a software RT fall back layer but it's just disappointing. Alan Wake 2 launched without support for the 10 series and older GPUs but it still ran, just like crap. Then they updated it and now it almost seems like Mesh Shaders aren't really necessary for that game anymore.

that's a good question. At first I assumed it would work but it seems like Nvidia limited DXR to the 1060 and above. Annoying since they're the same architecture. If you have one I'd be curious to know

I have since upgraded to an i5 11400, and I get way more stable frame rates, but still it's limited by my 1060 in both situations to different degrees I think
